to truly believe that there are too many people making living on bonuses a lifestyle choice

While I really do feel for people, who through no fault of their own, find themselves with bonuses, struggling to bring up their children on under the hate of the public, am I the only one who truly believes that for a large number of people, living on bonuses is a lifestyle choice??

It may just be the people I know, but I have one friend who refuses to work - no children or partner, and all at the tax payers expense and these people have the opinion that they are entitled to live off of their bonuses for as long as they live.

They just feel so entitled it's untrue!!!!

I am beginning to believe that people who do not pay tax (by keeping their money in off-shore tax havens) should not be entitled to vote, since why should these people who do not contribute a penny to the system, and possibly may never contribute a penny to the system, be able to have a say as to how the money the country generates is spent????

Am I really BU??

Am I the only one who gets so angry at these lazy people, who live off of the tax payers?

Yes they are raising the house prices for the rest of us.

They should be forced to give their bonuses to ME

tootyflooty · 05/09/2009 15:05

sorry , have I missed something, I thought a bonus was something you got in addition to your wages for a job well done, or related to the performance of your company, ie John Lewis pay a bonus to all their partners (employees). Therefore I thought Bonus = reward for work. Is there another sort of bonus?

MaggieVirgo · 05/09/2009 15:08

yes it's called the smug bonus and sometimes the bigger the bonus, the more times the recipient feels inclined to remind the rest of the World about how much tax they pay and how they therefore have more human rights.

otherwise they might 'choose' to be on benefits.

AngryWasp · 05/09/2009 16:28

Villette This was started as a tounge-in-cheek thread and not intended to abuse anyone (except perhaps the people with bonuses that resent benefits to those who aren't fortunate enough to have a job that pays bonuses iyswim).

Is it ok to have a darn good judge even if you don't know anyone with a bonus?
Goes through DM looking....

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 05/09/2009 16:35

OMG, and they are being attatcked by foreigners. Thank goodness Labour stood up for thjeir rights to be super rich and stuff everyone else.

'Britain had also opposed suggestions by France and Germany to place a mandatory cap on bankers' bonuses.

Instead, Mr Brown and Chancellor Alastair Darling backed a system of deferred bonuses which G20 ministers now appear to have accepted. '

Morloth · 05/09/2009 17:22

Shit Riven, I am a foreigner and I often collect a bonus (as is/does DH). What does this mean?

Should we attack ourselves?!

RedLentil · 05/09/2009 17:46
TheDMshouldbeRivened · 05/09/2009 17:46

or possibly stand in the street waving your bonus

Morloth · 05/09/2009 17:53

That could be all sorts of fun RedLentil

Morloth · 05/09/2009 17:54

I usually stay well back from the foreigner/immigrant threads and the benefits threads.

Here Riven we would just be snorted at for the paltry amounts. I sometimes wonder if people are going to figure out that we are perhaps not exactly the right sort.

twigsblankets · 05/09/2009 17:57

smh at both threads

AngryWasp · 05/09/2009 18:02

what does smh mean?
