And never eat Marmite.It's disgusting.

GrimmaTheNome · 03/09/2009 23:31

I only get the orange ones if DD is being especially kind to her old mum.

Marmite is ok...vegemite is better. But the best are Marmite cashews. [don't bother, thunderduck. they'll be wasted on you]

Thunderduck · 03/09/2009 23:32

Marmite cashews? What did the poor nuts do to deserve such indignities?

LovelyTinOfSpam · 03/09/2009 23:36

Always eat marmite. It is delicious.

GrimmaTheNome · 03/09/2009 23:36

you mean, surely, to deserve an unnaturally shortened life because they are rendered so irresistably scoffable?

Thunderduck · 03/09/2009 23:38

I think you're all in dire need of a tastebud transplant.

GrimmaTheNome · 03/09/2009 23:42

I wonder if theres anything that Duck loves that orange smartie/marmite lovers all hate?

Poor thing. Sensory deprivation, being marmiteless.

Thunderduck · 03/09/2009 23:44

I find that being Marmiteless is a most desirable state of being.

MrsChemist · 03/09/2009 23:47

I intend to throw a spanner into the Marmite works by e-mailing the company and telling them that I neither love nor hate Marmite. It tastes ok, but I can think of better things to put on my toast.

I want smarties now. Alas, I only have chewits.

LovelyTinOfSpam · 03/09/2009 23:52

Grimma just misread your post as being about smarmite.

gotta be a marketing opportunity there somewhere.

5inthebed · 04/09/2009 09:26

Now I do like a bit of marmite, and I do like cashews, so please Grimma, put me out my misery and tell me where I can buy them!

GrimmaTheNome · 04/09/2009 11:38

Asda

A smarmite would be a marmite-flavoured smartie. Now that would be vile

LovelyTinOfSpam · 04/09/2009 11:43

I thought smarmite might be the breakfast spread of choice at "power breakfasts" for people in the used motor car industry

drlove8 · 04/09/2009 13:43

where did marmite come in? was supposed to be a chocolate thread! lol !
i could do with a caramac right now.... is caramac supposed to be chocolate? i am unsure of its sweetie status .

5inthebed · 04/09/2009 14:35

No, smarmite would be smartie flavoured Marmite. One of the limited edition ones, like Guiness and Chanpagne.

Will go to Asda tomorrow then, are then beside the marmite, or in the nut aisle

Drlove, my step-dad makes Caramac . He is one of three people who makes it at the caramac factory . We often get big chunks of it for the kids. I hate the stuff, makes me gag.

GrimmaTheNome · 04/09/2009 14:39

The snacky nut aisle (as opposed to the wholefood or cake baking shelves. Nuts are all over the place in our Asda)

5inthebed · 04/09/2009 14:42

lol @ snacky nut aisle. I know the exact one you mean.

PlumBumMum · 04/09/2009 14:50

5inthebed I love caramac

Have never tried marmite

like orange smarties, but definitely no chocolate in the fridge kinda girl!

drlove8 · 04/09/2009 22:19

lol@ nuts are all over the place in asda ! true ! DH used to work there , said its full of nuts !BUT i think he ment the staff...

Just to add: Never put Marmite, chocolate OR peanut butter in the fridge [soruinsscrumptiousproductssmilie]

But orange Smarties are orange flavoured, for some reason, and do ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!1

drlove8 · 06/09/2009 22:28

why no fridge? why why why???

OP posts:
piscesmoon · 06/09/2009 22:42

I only like any chocolate if it has been in the fridge-I would rather not bother if it is room temperature or warmer.

pruneplus2 · 07/09/2009 14:46

Haha drlove, its a personal preference of mine. Marmite and peanut butter have to be spreadable, and chocolate has to remain speedily edible - as in, so I can scoff it swiflty and hide it from the kids. Very hard to do with a block of cold choc

Zalen · 07/09/2009 16:14

When we were kids we weren't allowed to eat the orange smarties, they all had to be saved and given to mum, I've tried to carry on the tradition .

As for no chocolate in the fridge, what lunacy is this! Toffee Crisp from the freezer, best snack ever.

drlove8 · 09/09/2009 21:54

pmsl @ pruneplus2 and zalen! ( have done mars bars from freezer , proper ones , not woosy ice-cream ones)
