to be really excited???

so nearly 9 hours till my ds 5 years, is back at school. at the excitment is unbareable! (mine that is, although hes excited too!)

i love him to pieces, but i really do enjoy my time away, and i love the routine it gives me which tends to disappear in the holidays does that make me an awful mother?!

Ssh, don't tell anyone but I'm feeling the same. Especially looking forward to getting my life into a bit more of a routine again. .

thank god for that!

now somewhat annoyed after just writing names on labels (or trying to) to find a black label on his t-shirt! now have to dig out the bleeding tip-ex.

so much for a good nights sleep ready to face the fashion show in the morning!

YANBU. It's my first experience of 'summer holidays' since DS only started state nursery in january & only goes for mornings. I feel jealous that he's not back in school till monday!

I too, am obviously a horrible mother.

I feel less guilty knowing that he WANTS to go back. We have had to drive past school at least once a week to prove that it is actually closed and I'm not just stopping him from going.

I also think it's not mutually incompatible to have enjoyed the summer holidays with them (I have), but still be ready for them to go back (I am, I so am)

there were good time but were overshadowed by constant fighting between ds 5 and dd 2.

I'm looking forward to school starting again but for a different reason, I feel I need a break from the other children in the street rather than my own!

It's, "Can I play in your house/have a snack/
go on your wii/do some painting?" Being the sort of person I am I've normally said yes, especially as my two do enjoy playing with
them. I've sometimes said no though, as I do need our time to be our own sometimes, and then felt guilty as it's, "Well my mum said your two can come in our house, that's not fair, why are you saying no today?"

My children don't spend long at their house, maybe the odd half hour, but if I let the other children in here it's guaranteed at least a half day session, with another half day of clearing up to be done!!

sparkle09 - me too! my ds 2.5 and dd 5, can't leave each other alone for 5 minutes - constant squabbling. I know your pain!
have mixed feelings about the end of the holidays as though it's full on when on school holidays, I work in school so it's quite full on when the school holidays end

i have had a nice couple of days, DC are fighting less as there not spending so much time together and thursday DD really missed her brother. also DS has been tired but happy to be seeing all of his friends again. (we live on a differant estate to his school so it was hard to get him and his friends together much in the hols.)

and i also live on a very quiet street with no children living here so it is just me and my DC all day.

but the best bit of the last 2 days was when DD had a sleep!!!...........

just me, MN, FB, and a COFFEE! lol pure bliss.
