To think that my mother might have had a bit of sense where M&S and bras are concerned??

God Im so irrationally angry about this.

dd has been staying with grandma this week, last night my mother phoned asking if dd could have her ears pierced and she needed to know striaght away as the woman she wanted to do it only works today

Then spoke to dd today who said woman wasnt there after all that and they will go another day. She then proudly went on to tell me that her and grandma had been bra shopping, despite her not needing any, was only fitted about 6 months ago, hasnt partuclularly grown since and bras still look nice.
Guess what they measured her in M&S a 32C in one bra and 32D in the other
Now this is for a pretty tiny 13 year old (just turned) with lovely little boobs for her age, but certainly not the same size as I was pre pregnancy

Seeing as the bra she would have been wearing is a 30A, do you not think my mother might have noticed something was adrift How the hell can a 13 year old have gone from a 30A to a 32D in 6 months Im bloody furious

YANBU on the ear piercing - I would always resist being rushed into any important decision.

Ear piercing, if done wrongly, carries an appreciable health risk, and a cosmetic risk. As the person ultimately responsible for my child, I would expect to go with her so I could get an idea of the place. (The man who pierced my ears 35 yrs ago was an old dodderer and did them squint!!!)

Mind you, I am such an old worrywort I wouldn't even let my kids' grandparents strap them into their car seats as babies - not that I didn't think they could do it, more that I thought it was my responsibility. Possibly a whole other AIBU thread!

Annoying - yes.

but look on the bright side - at least it was M&S so you can change them if needs be - just make sure you get the receipt off you mum when you see her now the exchange period is down to 35 days!

ha ha, I was right. The bra's, although very nice, are big on the cup size, her breasts have certainly not grown that much, the top of the bras do not fit flush to the breast and have huge gaping spaces where you fit another pair of boobs down there

Sadly by the time I got there the tags had been removed and bras already worn, so she'll just have to wear them.

OTOH - the ears look fab

Your mum seems to be horning in on your racket. Is this what's getting you so mad? Is DD using your mum to get things you would normally say no to?

M&S fitters are horrible. I went to get fitted for nursing bras and when I took off my shirt the fitter said 'I don't know if I can measure you in that bra. Its so obviously the wrong size. Who sold you that?'

I looked her right in the eye and said 'you did. About 8 months ago when I first got pregnant.' Yup, same fitter.

And then I walked out without buying anything from them.

I used to fit bras for a living. I wish it was easier to do it on myself!!

Why on earth would anyone be "bloody furions" and use 2 [angry}s about this?

It's definitely a storm in a D cup!
