Came out of our tenement the other day and there was a post it on the door saying

"Please Mr postman/lady do not buzz our flat to get in as we are out very late at the festival and don't want to be woken up!"

I was a bit taken aback as we never get our post before 10.30am and generally later. Not exactly the crack of dawn.

Then today another note on the door:

"Right Postman. DO NOT BUZZ our flat to get access we are renting for the festival and have been woken up EVERY FUCKING DAY"

I strongly wanted to ring their bell (it was 8am, so even worse than the postie) and kick their sorry pseudo bohemian arses. I really don't think postman ought be addressed like that when he is just doing a job.

How hard is it to ignore a doorbell anyway?

I can do it.

I think I mentioned poverty.

MorrisZapp · 21/08/2009 23:06

Glasgow's great. Comes buzzing to life with Orange Walks quite regularly.

(and I did live there when I was young, free and single!)

scottishmummy · 21/08/2009 23:07

i will as soon as i figure who the fuck stewart lee is?

LOL you said "get over yourself"
who is your debating mentor?
Vicky pollard?

Thunderduck · 21/08/2009 23:08

I'm glad that you agree it's great.

MorrisZapp · 21/08/2009 23:08

Stewart Lee, oddly attractive comedian who builds up his gags by repeating a line over and over again.

MorrisZapp · 21/08/2009 23:09

Glasgow absolutely is great. Only a fool would deny it. And so is Edinburgh.

Thunderduck · 21/08/2009 23:09

I do have my tongue firmly in my cheek when I'm teasing you Edinbuggers btw.

HaggisNeepsnTatties · 21/08/2009 23:10

Sorry, who is Vicky Pollard?

Is she a friend of yours?

MorrisZapp · 21/08/2009 23:12

Aye ok. We can take it

We were over the M8 last week on route to wedding. Got police escort over the scary bits due to coaches full of angry looking Protestants carrying drums and trumpets.

Was oddly surreal.

scottishmummy · 21/08/2009 23:14

haggis,is Ms Pollard your mentor you told me to get over myself

respekk

skybright · 21/08/2009 23:15

I do love it,but i hate the fireworks everynight at 10.35 which scare the shit out of my dog.

I have not done anything this year though, next weekend i will have fun after payday

HaggisNeepsnTatties · 21/08/2009 23:17

Still have no idea what you are talking about.....with respekk..??

Thunderduck · 21/08/2009 23:20

The sooner they ban those walks, all of them, the better.

scottishmummy · 21/08/2009 23:22

MorrisZapp · 21/08/2009 23:23

Too right thunderduck.

scottishmummy · 21/08/2009 23:24

in queen street?

HaggisNeepsnTatties · 21/08/2009 23:25

Lowered the tone?? Ha ha.....you should get yourself a gig at the Fringe. You are too funny....

And yes, I have no idea who Vicky Pollard is?

And I do believe that I did mention poverty earlier. What else do you think we should be concerning ourselves with??

MorrisZapp · 21/08/2009 23:25

Aye. Is mock American diner type joint, barman has astonishing afro.

Great wee boozer, I loved it then and I like it now.

scottishmummy · 21/08/2009 23:29

haggis you conserve your energies for Scotland's national disgrace.wouldn't want to detract from the very important talk of worrying about estate management and bamboo rods on exterior claddings

HaggisNeepsnTatties · 21/08/2009 23:31

But you still have not told us what it is that we should be worrying about??

scottishmummy · 21/08/2009 23:34

if you can drag yourself away from the bamboo- read my previous posts

most illuminating

HaggisNeepsnTatties · 21/08/2009 23:37

Which ones? The one about poverty/drug deaths and unemployment?

If it wasnt for the trams there may be money to be spend on improving these issues.....

HaggisNeepsnTatties · 21/08/2009 23:38

And I disagree.

They are not illuminating.

MorrisZapp · 21/08/2009 23:40

I love it when people refuse to explain themselves then say read my previous posts.

Why is just answering such a problem?

I think we all care about and worry about poverty. Which is linked into being annoyed about spending 30k on a slice of wood to make a nice desk for Parly reception.

I don't object to public spending on beautiful things if it's done carefully by people with firm control of the situation. But nobody could say Parly was built that way, surely?

scottishmummy · 21/08/2009 23:40

well you would say that...wouldn't you
