To think DP is ridiculous for buying his DD's clothes?

Not as bad as it sounds in the title.

Basically, yesterday ... DsD (12) came home from a shopping trip with her mother. Plonked herself down on the sofa and said to DP "Right, you owe me £12".

DP said "why do I owe you £12?"

So she replied "Because I've just bought myself an outfit .. which is YOUR job ... so you owe me £12"

DP said "No I don't, you didn't have to buy it, it's your own fault if you've spent your money"

DSD then goes off on a tirade ...

"DO YOU REALISE HOW MUCH BENEFIT YOU GET FOR ME! AND I GET A TINY FRACTION OF IT! DO YOU REALISE THAT MONEY IS SUPPOSED TO BE SPENT ON ME?? YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BUY MY CLOTHES OUT OF THE MONEY YOU GET FOR ME! SO YOU OWE ME!"

to cut a long story short, I later asked DP about it (as in, was he going to punish her for being so cheeky) and he told me he was considering giving her the £12!!!

She's just had a load of clothes bought for her not to mention all the places she's been during the summer holidays and the treats she gets.

AIBU? I'm fuming.

Also, landrover , why have you posted on so many threads today and yesterday and revived lots of older threads?

I only ask as your name is on so many from the last 15 minutes with very short answers. If I was the suspicious kind, which I am not I would think you were trying to build up a posting history pretty quickly.

MIAonline · 20/08/2009 13:21

damn the bold! landrover

TheCrackFox · 20/08/2009 13:27

I wondered what had happened to this imaginary 12 yr old.

I think someone is writing a book.

KnickKnack · 20/08/2009 13:33

Wow MIA, spot on...landrover has 138 posts in 2 days, most of us take a few days weeks to get into the swing. not many people start on 70 posts on their first day.

MIAonline · 20/08/2009 13:45

I feel bad and it isn't my style to point it out, but it was the revival of old threads couple with very short answers that makes me

The number of posts was less worrying as if I mentioned that too much I would offend the other addicted regular MNers!

Landrover's been amusing me today, too, with the flurry of one-word postings. Intrigued as to why pretty much only on AIBU, though.

KnickKnack · 20/08/2009 14:00

landrover, come back and explain yourself to us these nosy posters

Is such a troll-fest in one thread unusual, or are they always like buses?

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/08/2009 08:30

Is this the same relationship where you resented dsd for having got annoyed at having to be put in the box room in her home to cater for your 2 sons? The same one where you thought you DP was odd for laying his daughters clothes out???

I think you need to get out of this relationship because all you do is find fault in your dsd and her fathers relationship.

Do you buy your ds's clothes???

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/08/2009 08:33

ooppss didn't read all the replies....

gagamama · 21/08/2009 09:10

Oh is this the DSD that doesn't shower and walks around naked in front of her dad? Or the DP that takes her on dates to the bread aisle in Asda? I seeeee.

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/08/2009 09:20

Gaga...i forgot about the bread aisle lol
