dh has taken the boys camping for a week with the woodcraft folk

my dad/uncle are at a local folk festival

I am neither camping with the boys nor enjoying child-free music time with my dad, because I am STILL ill and so am staying at home

which in itself is OK - I'm a bit nervy about being alone at night [wuss] but on the whole I can use the time alone, it's nice to have a bit of peace and quiet

dh left in a disorganised flurry, I have been ill for weeks so the house is an absolute shitheap and I am planning on tackling it tomorrow

he left me a bit of cash and his bank card (I've lost my pin for mine, and his is the one registered with Tesco online) so I can order food for the week for myself

I just spent 40 minutes ordering nice conforting food for myself - tried to check it out and it wants 3 characters of dh's natwest secure password

which I don't know

and his mobile is off

so I am going to lose my delivery slot and will have to survive on one weightwatcher's ready meal and some cup-a-soup until I can get hold of dh and get the bloody password

I don't want to ask a friend to help out because frankly I'm ashamed of the state the house is in and don't want anyone coming in

AIBU to sit here and feel sorry for myself?

You are STILL ill???

My house seriously cannot possibly be any worse in terms of pig-sty-ness, if you want anything ask me, because I am glad of distractions right now!!!

Greensleeves · 03/08/2009 19:47

aaarrgh, I was getting better before the atibiotics ran out, but now I have stuff the colour of egg yolk issuing forth from my sinuses again, and a worse chest

BORING

Have you called your GP>?

OrmIrian · 03/08/2009 20:27

You are not alone greensleeves! MN is always with you....

Not sure if that helps or not

How far into Devon are you? I can manage a mercy dash with supplies depending on where you are.

Greensleeves · 03/08/2009 20:30

It helps ENORMOUSLY Orm, I would be going out of my mind without MN this past few weeks

I'm OK for supplies now, dh called and gave the the right info and my lovely shopping is already here (including three boxes of tissues) so I have everything I need now

I haven't called the GP, it's just been so soul-destroying being fobbed off and not taken seriously I haven't hte heart to do it again. They won'd do anything anyway, I've practically had to beg for the two courses of antibiotics I've had and the last duty doctor I saw spent less than 30 seconds dismissing me

but if I stay in, keep warm and overeat all week I should be OK

God I can't believe you're still so ill Poor you . Hope you start feeling better soon. (Pharmaton tablets are very good to take after being ill).

OrmIrian · 03/08/2009 20:34

Aha! I see I am a bit behind the times as usual . Glad you are properly provisioned now.

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot · 03/08/2009 20:35

Give them another try GS- my friends GP told her recently that she could be seen 'properly'now becuase she'd visited enough times to have her complaints taken seriosuly . And my friend is the least go- quietly type I ever met LOL!

Get better and we'll have coffee of a Saturday. you can even invite Orm if you want LoL, shes OK

OrmIrian · 03/08/2009 21:19

Yeah. I is usually well-behaved

Greensleeves · 03/08/2009 22:37

does anyone know if horrible frothy phlegm is significant?

as if luminous mustard-coloured snot wasn't horrible enough

I would love to meet up for coffee!

OP posts:
MANATEEequineOHARA · 03/08/2009 23:01

Significant!? Well, I am sure it is a symptom of being really not quite right! That is awful still being ill. Get some mega strong vitamins to take. And you could always swallow a few cloves of fresh garlic...seeimg as you wont be kissing anyone for a few days!
I do think you should go back to the drs though, DEMAND they listen. TELL THEM you are not happy with the service so far. You shouldn't be ill for this long.

Glad you have your shopping though, I love getting shopping

Seabright · 03/08/2009 23:47

Hi Greensleeves, For getting your house in order, try the Flylady system (www.flylady.net). It's very American and cheesy, but the system works.

Countingthegreyhairs · 04/08/2009 00:18

Greeny - you could have a secondary infection. Get thee back to the docs!!! HOpe you feel better soon ...
