to want a conservatory?

we dont really need one, but i really want one, i love them and I love the idea of them, and it is a lovely place to sit and look at the garden...but my concience is telling me it is an un necessary extravagance

so help me with my inner turmoil!! please

As for you loving the sound of the rain on them.....a plastic box worn over the head produces the same noise.......and might be a tad cheaper.

Get an extension. We have a fully brick extension with big french doors and windows to the rear of the property - but brick sides and proper roof. It is so much more usable - all year round, yet has that 'garden' feel to it when you sit in there. Still very light and airy!

i too love the sound of the rain on the roof in the conservatory,we have two radiators in ours and use it as a dining area.it is one of the most useful rooms in our house especially when dh can go and watch all the sport on the tele out there and i dont have to watch it !!!
