Got home yesterday, browsed through photos earlier. Not ONE with me in it. This happens a lot.

I don't even particularly like photos of me, but...

I've just deleted all my DH's photos of a recent family party we went to. I had a lovely new outfit, hair done, make up on, thought I looked quite good - lots of pictures of me from behind , me with mouth wide open, swigging wine, etc. I genuinely don't think he looks through the viewfinder when he takes the pictures. (The photos of the balloons & cake came out well though).

SendReceive "And I just can't say "oh do take a picture of me""

Course you can, I do it all the time. Usually when I have been having a lovely drinky and now have two cocktail umbrellas up my nose.

Me too! Makes me feel better to know I'm not alone. I have to turn camera on, tell DH to take it, then review it as he often gets lighting wrong (flash) or misses something out e.g. top of head! I take loads of photos so we can delete 3/4 and still have 1/4 of good ones of DH & DD.

yanbu but its the same in our house. the only pics of me are ones where i'm holding a child/doing something and there's never a nice picture. i'm always the one using the video camera as well so theres not one film of me

BiscuitStuffer · 02/08/2009 22:30

oh just tell him that you need some photos of you with the kids so that they have some record of you when they're younger and can see you enjoying time with them. It's for the kids sake you know

DH takes shedloads of photographic gear but only takes shots with no people in them. Churches, doorways, rolling scenery, but they are always so boring when you look at them afterwards. Its the ones with people in that are interesting.
So yes - I also take all the family photos and therefore am never in any of them. Which is probably why I react so badly on the odd occasion that someone does take one of me - I just can't believe I look like and that get shot of it.
The only thing is that the kids will grow up and totally forget that once I wasn't an old lady as there'll be no photographic record...

Morloth

Hormones - that sounds about right! At his sister's wedding he took over 100 pictures but there is only one shot of me, taken in terrible lighting at the end of the reception
