for DS (6) not standing up to wee?! He still sits down.

I think DH should be the one to persuade him - after all I can't really demonstrate can I?

The trouble is, DH is not very good at getting on the DCs' wavelengths to get them to do things.

Any tips?

DS is 5.8 and generally sits to wee. I asked him what he does at school and he sometimes sits and sometimes stands.

DH generally sits down to wee I think.

Hi,

I always remember that my nephew wanted to wee standing up and got load and loads of wee on the floor. Anyway his dad had a vasectomy and the plaster went down the loo - it would not flush away easily but nephew found new game of weeing onto the plaster. It kept the wee in the loo anyway. So from then on for a while they had a bag of cotton wool balls handy and when he went they popped one in the loo for him to aim at - maybe this would work in lew of dad demonstrating.

Be aware that you should also teach your boys to wee standing up as many schools have urinals, and only one toilet cubicle in the boys toilet.

Many a reception class teacher has had to stop such boys trying to sit in the urinals!! I kid you not, and imagine how yukky school urinals are.

my DH was a bit lke this - doesn't really like the DSs going into the loo with them - so they sat down to wee for quite a long time. Wasn't til their cousin came round and they saw him wee standing up that they did it. Now they stand around the loo, weeing together and having a chat...
