to be annoyed at Religious Questioning in the Street?

For some reason the Jehovas Witnesses have moved into our town (maybe we are a bunch of heathens worthy of Missionaries?); and much as I accept the twice yearly door knock as part of what they do, they are now continually lurking on the street stopping me every time I walk into town.

I had a Christian upbringing, but am not sure I believe in it enough to pass onto DS; and DH is a committed Scientist and Atheist (and fan of Richard Dawkins?) So maybe I?m not in the best position to talk religion in the street as I?m highly unsure and probably an easy target; but AIBU to wish they would stop harassing me??

was it because you smelt cheesy Edam? maybe you have a pure aura, or some such?

I used to invite the Mormons in for tea and they would do all my washing up and drying when we had lovely chats about Bingham Young and Utah.

They missionaries are just selling you their world view - same as any other product.

My Dh tells them he's a Satanist and had one pamphleteer Legion of Mary (Roman Catholic) woman, jump back and wet herself with fright! i think she was expecting sulfurous fumes, cloven hooves, a tail and horns to appear any second.

Hilarious really

I tend not to take their sales pitch personally - after all they sell to everyone - same as chuggers or any other street / cold calling / sales and marketing technique.

Yanbu AT ALL! I have thought about doing my own little atheism tract to pass out when they come to my door (which is often)!

Also, I wish those clipboard people would stop making me feel like I don't care about poor children just because I wont fill out a direct debit form in the street!
