To want my things back please,,,

I have this friend. (question that term).
She "borrows" Lots of things.
This is because she never brings forgets a lot of her things whenever she comes to my house.
I hve lost count of the amount of tops, books, items of cutlery (yes cutlery) she must have now. My DD's wardrobe is bare.

I never get any of it back. Even when i ask there is an excuse. Or a "yep i'll just get it...." My DH has banned her from the house..

I hate to keep asking. What to do? Where can i find this backbone people talk of?

Go to her house and ask for it back there and then. Accept no excuses and make her give it to you even if clothes are 'in the wash' etc.

And then say no to her borrowing books etc.

Why did she need to borrow cutlery?

Agree with bibelots, around to her house you go and get reclaiming.

Then just say NO when she asks to borrow anything.

It went something like this.

Her - Oh,i forgot a yoghurt. Can i borrow one.

Me- Of course (start to sigh)

Her - Oh ill need a spoon too. And a feeder cup. Oh and a bib.

Me - WOuld you like my husband too?

okay, so i just gave them to her without that comment but i never seemed to see them again....

But I don't get why she had to take them home. Did she offer to wash them up and are you very lazy or what?!

I'm assuming she packed them away in her bag with the one or two things she did actually bring .

And trying to prise the cup out of her dd hand was too much agro to bare.

send your DH round......that is what I did when this happened to me!

well, I say that, happened once, her DD came to ours for tea, got wet, borrowed an outfit from DD1 (brand new too, DD1 still has no idea how she managed to con her), then the mum kept saying for weeks "oh, tis in the wash, will bring it round once dry", and I swear the girl was wearing it.

DH went round, she claimed it was in the wash, so DH sat down at the table, asked for coffee and said he would wait......would only take a while surely if it was already in the machine....

it worked, we got it back, altho it was indeed slightly worn

same girl and mum did it to several 'friends' I found out later!!
