To think that babygros are fine for a six month old to wear

According to my mum, dressing your 6 month old in a babygro of a daytime looks common.

Considering we're weaning now and she's a pukey baby anyway, babygros are far easier to change in and out of several times a day.

Plus, she's my baby, what's wrong with dressing her like a baby?

AIBU, or just lazy?

I'm a baby dresser upper. I never took either of my Dc's out in a gro. I took immense pride in dressing my babies beautifully and always had comments on how fab Ds looked(especially). He was a summer baby and wore gorgeous little shirts and shorts or dungarees and T's. Dd, a winter baby looked just beautiful in little trousers and tops with cardi's over...

I have had many friends over the years that dressed their lo's in gro's...each to their own, but definitely not my bag.

When DS was a newborn I put him mostly in babygros, after a few months I moved on to soft little dungarees and long-sleeved t-shirts over those bodysuits with poppers at the crotch, but for most of his first summer it was just bodysuits as he wriggled out of trousers. I don't care for denim or trousers with pockets on babies, either, and can't see the point of designer gear that is just going to be shat or puked on.

Really sorry, can't remember who, but somebody was looking for cat clothing for a boy. This is lovely, and there's also a cat here.

Im in Team Babygro myself, i refused to dress dd in anything else until she was 7 months, as i didnt like the thought she could be uncomfortable. MIL a different story, and bought dd al sorts of scraggy frilly nasty tat, and would probably dress dd in a full net body with matching tutu and hoop earrings if she could get away with it. You can get loads of comfortable stuff for babies that are similar to babygros, outfits that have poppers in the crotch area, ive found loads of things from m&s and next that are lovely and comfortable. You wont find much more practical and comfy than a babygro though....

YANBU! lol at 'common'

My babies both wore clothes during the day and babygro's only at bedtime.

Have got nothing against babies wearing them all day, but because of where I work, I am so used to seeing babies stay in babygro's all day, every day.

I think I wanted to make a distinction between looking after babies at work and looking after my own babies.

Babygros are for bedtime. I have never taken out either of mine when they were tiny wearing a babygro.

Simple, soft cotton clothes are best for daytime when they are tiny IMO.

Also, in the early days, it gave me something to focus on, choosing an outfit and ironing it before we went out!

I had DD in daytime and nightime babygrows even had "going out" babygrows... You can get some really nice ones. Then had summer (short sleeved short legged ones)..

I hated the proper outfits people bought her when she was so little (although obviously was very grateful for the thought (before I get slated for being ungrateful)..

I have to say i'm surprised at how many of you leave your babies in babygrows all day and take them out in them.
I've worked with children as a nanny and in a nursery for about 12 years now and have never ever come accross a baby that didnt' have 'clothes' on in the daytime!

Nothing better than choosing a nice comfy outfit for my LO each morning!

YANBU I like babygrows, they are comfy and you can get some really lovely ones. It only looks common if you take them out in a white one that has turned abit grey and has a yellow stain around the collar.
