Its the first time that I've booked 'newspaper hols' and as soon as it was confirmed I'd been chosen (1st come 1st served)£60 'flew' out of my account offering me a haven holiday mon-fri 4 nights.GREAT I thought at least we'll get a holiday this year!. My daughter is Wheelchair bound so I knew I'd have to pay a little extra. The switchboard tell me I cannot get adapted accomodation until I get a ref number... ref number came through today with confirmation BUT they are putting £93.96 services charges on top! This is £30 for club passes£10 for made beds a power charge for £39.96 and £14 for 'promo linen'...this is BEFORE they know I want w/c caravan! I'm not going in high season [term time] we are going 7 sept till 11. so...my £60 holiday will poss turn into £200 with the accessable caravan I just think if the paper says £15 pp it should be just that! AIBU??

The accessibility issue is appalling, I think you should contact the paper about this and ask them to find you a park in your preferred area for your chosen dates that meets your criteria and complain that this is not a tick box option on the application form.

That said we have done the Sun Europe £15 holiday that was fab and have been to Haven Rockley Park and Bude Holiday Park all of which have not cost more than the £9.50 plus the upgrades we chose to pay for. We are due to go to a newly refurbished park near Bude in September which we know will be good as we drove round it and everything is brand new and it's in a lovely spot.

If you go with the idea that you can self-cater which is usually a good option with kids, can use the facilities if you want to but are using the site as a base then I think it is about expectations...

Hmmn, the park we went to was Rockly park and it was lovely, fabulous location, nice and quiet, very clean and just lovely - so maybe not everywhere is like that then?? (Dreading next one then!!)

CL, Where do you live? Would you go to North Cornwall/Devon border? If so, Sandymouth Bay

salsmum can you ask the haven lady to quote you direct? I always find it's cheaper than doing it through the papers as you get a total price - and usually someone has a discount code you can use too to get money off
