to want to feed my son jars while abroad?

Im off to tenerife, so hardly the other side of the world, however I want to take a weeks supply of jars to feed my 6.5m corrected son. My OH thinks we should just mash up the hotel food when we get there, as we are a bit snobby cautious about using jars at home. But Im a little worried about sickness bugs etc, and am kind of thinking that why take the risk when there is an easy safer option? We are staying 5 star all inclusive (Bahia Principe if anyone has been there and can give me insight!).
Am I being totally over protective?

When I had just weaned dd1 we went to Australia for a month and she had jars the whole time. God knows why because they only have about 3 diferent ones and their fresh food is lovely!
Going to balearics in sept and dd2 will be almost 1. She is allergic to pretty much everything.. will have to take special formula prob about 3 tins, special marg, a couple of pots of the only baby food she can eat and huge vats of excema cream and anti histamine med. Does anyone know if you get special baggage allowance for under 2's ho need this kind of stuff??

monkeyface if you take the milk in a sealed carton I dont think they will make you taste it - they make allowances for baby milk and food. But you could ring ahead and check to be safe.

I did have to open the carton and taste it even thought it was sealed. Same with the jar of food.

You are supposed to make formula up as you need it with boiling water and cool it then - but it's a matter of opinion how safe you want to be. Guidelines used to be with cold. It's to make sure that all bacteia in the powder is killed.
