...and they way it shaves your foot

Even more so the fact you have to empty all the dead shaven skin out

I emptied mine (for I think it twas moi who started the original ped egg thread-that's hard to say )out of my roof window only for all the ashes to blow back in my face. That will teach me.

morningpaper · 07/07/2009 18:18

I hadn't heard of a Ped Egg until this thread

I opened the thread assuming it was something to do with paedophiles

mrsmaidamess · 07/07/2009 18:20

oh morningpaper where have you beeeen??

TsarChasm · 07/07/2009 18:24

I got one. It's ok but no way is it worth £9.99. It's no different to any other foot grater. (Grating hard skin turns my stomach too, but I make myself do it)

LollipopViolet · 07/07/2009 22:33

Doesn't it hurt though? My feet are terrible, but I'm a wimp for pain.

mrsmaidamess · 07/07/2009 22:35

It does not hurt in the slightest. You are not shaving your feet. It feels the same as any foot file. But works miles better IMHO.

wrinklytum · 07/07/2009 22:37

Well,I bought one after perusing the mn thread and have to say,its fab.It has transformed my manky feet.

mrsmaidamess · 07/07/2009 22:46

wrinkly, me too. The horrible skin has stayed away too.

MoChan · 07/07/2009 22:55

I just ordered one, on the strength of all this recommendation. It had better be good, or I'll come back here to complain.

mrsmaidamess · 07/07/2009 22:59

Complaints are only accepted in writing.

Bonneville · 07/07/2009 23:12

Just bought one and I must admit I am somewhat surprised at the contents of the egg (keep having this urge to look inside half way through the grating session!). I really didnt know what to expect but it looks just like talcumn powder.

Eve4Walle · 08/07/2009 07:08

It doesn't really collect it in the egg though does it? I had to sweep up after I'd finished!

I am very pleased with the results and all for £3 on ebay.

Tee2072 · 08/07/2009 08:01

Its fab, I love it.

Mine collects about 99% of the shavings. I do it over a towel that is about to be washed anyway, so anything that doesn't get caught goes into that and then shaken into the bin.

MamaLazarou · 08/07/2009 08:34

Ped eggs are rubbish! Wot a rip-off. You have to grate away for half an hour to get a tiny bit of dust.

harleyd · 08/07/2009 08:40

why in the hell do you shave your feet?
omg!

Bonneville · 08/07/2009 10:27

MamaL - mine isnt actually a ped egg - its a copy from a market stall. Can you suggest anything that will do the same job but quicker as I agree it does take quite a while?

Dosent Boots sell something that you just soak your feet in and it just dissolves the hard skin away? Or am I imagining this? Anyone know?

TsarChasm · 08/07/2009 10:43

Imho I think Newtons Foot Sponges are better.

(Usually sold in chemists for a couple of pounds) I think they do a quicker and better job. You use them in the bath when your feet are wet and the skin is softened, not on dry skin.

MamaLazarou · 08/07/2009 10:45

I've seen those Newton's foot sponges recommended all over the place, but can never find them in the shops.

TsarChasm · 08/07/2009 10:47

They tend to be found in independant smaller chemists rather than big chains like Boots I've noticed.

spokette · 08/07/2009 11:00

I hold my feet over a bin to collec the excess shavings because PedEgg does not collect them all.

Tis great though. Even my DH is using it!

ninedragons · 09/07/2009 05:33

Another vote for chiropody sponges.

You just wet them, put soap on them, give your feet a quick rub and you've got a beautiful pair of newborn feet at the end of your legs, even if you can usually walk barefoot on gravel.
