Heard on the radio that Ryan air are thinking of doing this someone has lost the plot big time

last week it was that they were going to charge for the toilets.

i don't understand why anyone would fly with them.

Can you imagine the compensation claims passengers would try to make if they were injured during either turbulence or landing/taking off?

Agreed that it's a publicity stunt, but, mayorquimby, standing passengers would be terribly unsafe during takeoff, landing, and turbulence when even the flight crew are required to be strapped down to something. If there was a jolt to the aircraft every standing passenger would become a very large, airborne projectile.

It would be rather like having a car with 300 passengers in an accident and no one wearing a seatbelt.

I think its just a headline grabbing joke as I think it would be against CAA rules. On our last flight the pilot seemed to put his foot down on take off so much all the bags rolled out and we were definitely pushed back hard, and I head several OMG's, anyone standing wouldn't of been by the time we were clear of the ground
