"there are bigger things in life"
"you need to find something else to worry about"

Yes, there are bigger things in life. But that's true for everything. You weren't claiming it was the worst problem ever. Does that mean you're never allowed to be annoyed by things because there are always bigger problems?

Connie obviously you missed this (that's the most recent thread - there were a few before that one when we actually moved back in together)

There's an old saying about 'the straw that broke the camel's back.' In other words, we usually manage to cope with most everyday issues-some big, some not so. But it only takes a small, silly thing to push us over the edge-and post in the AIBU thread. Its what it's there for . Just be prepared!!!!!!!!!

agree. if it's clear you're bitching about something small like concert tickets or something else that's a luxury, you're not claiming it to be the biggest deal in the world and pithy comments kind of miss the point of just venting. and lets face it, whatever problem an english speaking person with access tot he internet is bothering to post about in the "aibu" section, it is almost guarenteed that literally hundreds of millions of people have bigger problems than them.
if we can't moan about anything that isn't uber-serious and catastrophic to the fabric of soceity then what are we going to talk about. if someone posted "aibu to be upset that i just lost my job and can't feed my family" it doesn't help to pop up with competitive posts about who has it worse so why do the same if you're moaning about being over-charged for eggs in tesco?

Op - yanbu. I completely agree.

I was woken up at 4am by my neighbour's 5 year old crying and wailing, and couldn't get back to sleep so am drooping with tiredness. Also I have the beginnings of a mouth ulcer or possibly abscess(!). So please may I have that brownie?
