None of my buisiness what people do in their own homes, did not comment further, but wondered what you all think?

(i wait till i have a full load, and i know that they dont have the facility for half a load on their machines, and yes they are incredibly lucky to not have mountains of the stuff....)

I only do laundry at weekends, waste of water, laundry tablets and electricity to do it more often. We have enough of everything to easily get through a week.

Have a quickwash option for the odd emergency but its rare its used.

actually id have to say my family does the same as rivens, perfectly acceptable to wear something more than once unless dirty or smelly.

I totally agree - I wear things more than once until I think they will shortly become dirty and smelly.

I can imagine the situation where you must wash one thing instantly, but if I was in that situation, I'd put in a load of towels, dish cloths, cleaning cloths, lace curtains etc to bulk it out - I literally go round the house looking for things to bulk out the wash.

Oh, and according to the washing machine manufacuturers, the business about overloading them is actually many years out of date - we've grown up with this idea that you mustn't overfill them or they won't clean, but this is no longer the case.

Bloody hell would love to have the life where there were only two things in the house to wash. To have empty laundry baskets is my eternal unattainable goal. They will never be empty!

The washing machine is on every bleeding day. If it's not clothes it's sheets, if it's not sheets it's towels, and if it's not that it's DP's collection of work clothes which he has found stuffed hidden in the van!
