To think that keeping cool is more important than looking good?

In this hot weather then DD (18 months) is just wearing a t-shirt and a (cloth)nappy around the house.
My husband doesn't want her going out in public like that, and I know most of my friends would agree with him. I agree it isn't a good look (before I had a baby I was very snobby about having a nappy showing).
But in a heatwave, I don't think I care.
AIBU, or is it tantamount to parading round in your underwear and to be reserved for the park/ beach/ garden only?

especially when bare baby feet are SO cute, sophable! i agree.

Thunderduck · 30/06/2009 13:49

YANBU.

But I must disagree Expat, even baby feet aren't cute. All feet are gross.

SarahL2 · 30/06/2009 13:55

Baby feet are amazingly cute! As are mine

expatinscotland · 30/06/2009 13:56

what? are you crazy, thunder? baby feet are GORGEOUS!! i love it now it's hot and DS has his fat, smooth feet out on display for me to tickle and nuzzle all the time.

he's sleeping in his cot now and i peep in and look at his lovely wee toes.

mmmm.

Thunderduck · 30/06/2009 13:58

No they aren't nice, perhaps on a baby of just a few weeks old they aren't too bad, but beyond that they are not nice, and from toddlerhood onwards they are gross.

I love their hands though.

YANBU.
My ds wears top and cloth nappy as much as possible! If i am going to spend a fortune on gorgeous wraps, then i am going to make sure they are shown off!
If it is a Pampers, well, that is a different story altogether . . . .

expatinscotland · 30/06/2009 14:06

you are mad. baby feet are adorable! oooo. the wee toes.

Thunderduck · 30/06/2009 14:10

When I have a baby I'll probably be the only mother saying 'Don't you dare hand him to me without putting some socks on him first!'

MiniMarmite · 30/06/2009 14:16

YANBU, quote Health and Safety at him

Not that it actually says that babies should only wear nappies and a t-shirt of course!
