Death threats disguised as chain letters/emails

I have just received an email from a friend containing some trite "advice" with the charming comment at the bottom that if I didn't forward it within 6 minutes I'll get a very unpleasant suprise.

I'm eight months pregnant, perhaps the nasty suprise will be some harm to my baby? Perhaps my toddler and husband will be involved in a car accident - thank you so much friend, you must really care about me.

Fortunately, I am not superstitious so have deleted the email and will not be losing any sleep, but cannot beleive women (as it always is women that seem to send these) can be so stupid and so thoughtless. I know some people really beleive and worry about this stuff and they only have their friends to thank.

Incidentally, this is the first email I've had from said friend in 6 months.

CWM that's BRILLIANT. Will use it in future...

Cheers

What a twat of a friend. I would reply with a simple 'fuck off'. Emails like this are pointless and cruel. Delete and put it from your mind and be thankful that you have the good sense and judgment not to participate any further in the mindless crap.

Not as funny but I retun her animated gifs of fellating teddies and ?help the dieing orphan pigeons? via email with
'Syntax error line 1'
I can hear her brain grinding from miles away.

I can't bear these things.
ANy of them.
If I get one that has nice pics or a nice message but with the chainmail crap at the bottom, I always send it on BUT ONLY AFTER removing the chainmail shit. I can do this to powerpoints as well - that way I satisfy my inane superstitious fears but don't pass the buck onto any other poor soul.

Years ago I was sent a bollox one that told me if I didn't pass it on I'd have 7 years bad luck in love - it was sent to me by a friend who knew exactly how shit my lovelife had been over the previous few years - I was deeply unimpressed. That one did get deleted.

If I get any of those "WARNING - please pass to all your female friends/family/anyone you know with a computer" bollox ones, the sender always gets a Snopes or Symantec link sent back to them with a polite request to check for hoaxes themselves next time.

thumbwitch to me that tripe is just an annoying with or without the bit at the bottom, if you continued to waste my time by sending them to me (after my standard email) I'd sign you up to a pile of catalogues / charity mailing lists or some such!

annoying!!

thumbwitch · 28/06/2009 18:47

but I don't know you salby so I am safe, and so are you.
I never continue to send things to people who ask me to stop.

Cowwomanmoo · 29/06/2009 00:29

Salbysea, bit harsh?
For being rude to thumbwitch you DP penis will turn into a carrot as soon as you read the last line of this post.
