to be shocked that my friend's nursery staff have been sent to elocution lessons?

She and other mothers have apparently complained that their children are not speaking "properly" and so the nursery have sent the nursery nurses to elocution lessons. Am amazed first of all that the parents have complained and secondly that the nursery hasn't just dismissed it as snobbishness.

I think this is a good thing! My niece has picked up some grammatically incorrect words and phrases from nursery, I'm not sure if it's from other kids or from the staff but there's no harm in being sure!

"No he aint!" is her current favourite, followed closely by "them ones" when pointing at something she wants. I'm sure over time she'll drop these but I know her Mum is a bit put out!
