...means that I can't buy my daughter a pair of shoes without having rows of pink, floral and glittery nastiness paraded before me and that's YOUR fault for buying it and buying into all that sexist stereotyping.

Oh how funny LOVELYTINOFSPAM, DD has those!

I thought they were very CAMPER-esque.

They are great.

Sycamoretreeisvile · 25/06/2009 22:43

Oh yes I know Lovelytin...but I was skim reading the thread and thought it had generally honed in on sandals...

wahwah · 25/06/2009 22:43

Thanks for all the links, I have had a good look and there are some very nice shoes. Now to be more demanding, DD is walking properly, not cruising and I must have something that says H fitting on it, not just wide...To tell the truth I have done a little bit of research and there are one or two pairs out there that aren't too yucky, but I would have liked a bigger choice for my little poppet's hooves.

You are all very credit crunch conscious with your concerns for my pocket, but let me tell you, nuffink is too much for our little princess. Oh and i think I hear her waking up now...

But just wait till the little girls leave the pinky glittery phase and go into mini hooker phase

GodzillasBumcheek · 25/06/2009 22:55

Yes it is those ones DD3 has!

She chose them over the other pinker versions too (Yes i gave her a choice too)

GodzillasBumcheek · 25/06/2009 22:56

BTW, FWIW DD1 and DD2 have never been through the entirely pink phase, and thank goodness at age 11 are still not into mini-hooker either!

(And have both completely bypassed high School Musical...YAHOOOO!)

LovelyTinOfSpam · 25/06/2009 22:59

Many of us seem to have indentical taste in girls shoes!

So on that basis wahwah YABU none of us are buying girly girly pinky winky pukey nasty footwear in the first place

Sycamoretreeisvile · 25/06/2009 23:01

Yeah OP, YABU!!!!

Take it back, or else!

babyicebean · 25/06/2009 23:07

If its not HSM or that flaming Hannah Montanna it ruddy Lelli Kelli's, LK are just doodles wth sequins on.

GodzillasBumcheek · 25/06/2009 23:15

Lelli Frickin Kelli Feckin Feck Off

GodzillasBumcheek · 25/06/2009 23:16

Ooops, sorry, did i think that out loud?

Sycamoretreeisvile · 25/06/2009 23:17

I remember fondly having a good old ding dong on a Leli Kelly thread a good few months ago now.

onebatmother · 25/06/2009 23:24

Are you independently wealthy?

I love pom d'api (not the yucky older girls stuff though, some of which is on that page). I buy them on ebay for less than clarks.
Pink-obsessed dd 3 is v happy.

onebatmother · 25/06/2009 23:26

Warning: This page may contain traces of pink.

LovelyTinOfSpam · 25/06/2009 23:29

I am independently wealthy onbat.

But not a royal. So I stick to browing that particular site.

i like these ones . Especially the ones with the ducks...

LovelyTinOfSpam · 25/06/2009 23:30

Browing?

Yes that's how I use a keyboard, what of it?

BTW apparently michael jackson is dead. Crikey.

Sycamoretreeisvile · 25/06/2009 23:42

Ooh, I love the ducky ones too lovelytin!

And also heart Pom D'Api.

I just resold DD's Pom D'Api sandals from last year on ebay for 21 quid...I kid ye not. These things retain their value

I must bookmark that site.

You are norty women. Am supposed to be credit crunching pre holiday.

Horton · 26/06/2009 00:02

Pom D'Api are bloody great. I bought DD a pair of boots from there last year and after nearly six months of wear by a two year old, they still looked as good as new. Can't say the same for the Garvalin sandals that she's only been wearing for about three months. Do you really think someone would buy them on eBay? They're lovely pale dull shiny lilac with stitched patterns and silver leather lining. Pretty enough for little girls to love and stylish enough for parents to think 'actually, I'd wear those'. If anyone wants a pair of very pretty pre-worn boots, size 22, CAT me!

Fairynufff · 26/06/2009 13:09

I am a proud pinky princess buyer and it's only because my girls like it. I know one of their friends won't wear girls stuff for love nor money and she clumps around in boys trainers, boyish looking clothes and quite frankly she is ostracised by her peer group because she is slightly 'different' (not ostracised by my girls before you all lynch me...my princessy DD is about the only friend she's got). I do agree that manufacturers could be a little more imaginative. I look for clothes that are pretty and feminine - whatever colour - but 9 times out of 10 you can only really get 'pretty' in pink. They will soon grown out of too. One of the joys of having a little DD is so that you can buy nice clothes. I feel a bit sorry for mums who insist on buying their daughters tomboyish stuff. What's the point of being a little girl if you've never spun round in a pretty twirly skirt?

funkybuddah · 26/06/2009 13:47

I agree re the pinkness, i like pink, but hot pink not marshmallow pink, makes me want to vomit.

I chortle when i see a pink stroller with a girl dressed in pink trews, pink shoes, pink socks, pink top, pink coat, pink dummy, pink hair slide. All in the same sugar sweet candy pink, did a carebear throw up on that child?

onebatmother · 26/06/2009 14:21

The worst - the very worst - shade is one we drefer to as Artificial Limb Pink.

It's .. you know.. sort of plastic and artificial. Could not exist in nature etc.

I believe that these days prosthetics are vastly improved, and so the prospect of dd explaining to a brave war veteran that his arm is of the precise tonal value that which we, as a family, most abhor is a remote one. Though not impossible. Nothing is impossible.

GreenMonkies · 26/06/2009 14:26

It's not just childrens clothes either.

I was in Matalan earlier looking for some new shortie pyjamas, all but one set was pink themed. I hate pink. The one set that wasn't had a cow on the front, and dreadful slogan about dreaming. What's wrong with a nice set of blue pj's? Or purple? Or green? Without stupid dumb-ass ditsy slogans on them?

And car stuff??? I am a bit of a petrol head, but all "girls" car accessories are pink. Um, no, not in my Scooby Doo!!!

GodzillasBumcheek · 26/06/2009 18:31

onebatmother - examples please?

I really can't think what shade you mean.

I particularly detest fluorescent pink - on my older DDs it looks utterly hideous as they have beautiful ginger hair...but guess what was most in fashion when they were little girls? Yup, neons.

FairLadyRantALot · 26/06/2009 18:42

suggestion to the op...move to germany ...not so much pinkness for girls...
oh and those with boys fed up of dull clothing...also move to germany...lots mroe colourful clothing for Kids ;)
