I cant cope with these people anymore asking me to give them money. As im on maternity leave ive been in the house more often and am getting fed up of them all!!!

I rather like a friends sign which has "No God Botherers"...however find that even our "We don't buy at the door" gets ignored...

And I love any excuse to pass on my little chuggers pearl of wisdom - ask them where the local office/service is.

If they know (and I mean know the place, not have a spiel on a card about it), then they are probably engaged with the charity, so you might want to consider giving them some time if it's one you think worthwhile.

If they don't, then they are on an hourly rate from an agency wearing bib of the week and you can shut the door with impunity.

My dad just put a sign on the door saying No Junk Mail and I laughed my head off - what will he do without his daily high speed march down the road chasing the poor Indian/Chinese/Pizza Hut leaflet delivery person? He has turned into Victor Meldrew - just stick it in the recycling I said, Nooooo he must chase them and hand it back.
