To not understand why people buy expensive cloth nappies

OK, I know that disposibles are really expensive, but why is it that some people who use cloth nappies get carried away. I know a lady who has a beautiful wrap with embrodery.

What is the point of buying beautiful nappies if your child is going to poo all over them?

My daughter being wearing terry squares, with a nappi nippa and a motherease wrap. I do have a few shaped nappies for my husband to use. Up to date I have spent about £70 on nappies and we have everything we need.

I was looking on the web at nappies and some of them are stupidly expensive. It really defeats the point of using cloth. Especially if the nappies are so slow to dry that you need to use a tumble dryer.

"A more suitable hobby for the real-nappy-enthusiast eco-mum would be to knit your own nappies, embroidered if you like, preferably from home-grown hemp. Rather than buying into the capitalist model of conspucuous consumption. "

I can imagine that the true hippie mum might have other uses for the home grown hemp!

Reallytired comtemplates the carbon footprint of the special lamp required and telling the police that she is only in possession of homegrown nappies.

I am getting sucked into the nappy addiction, i started off convincing my dh we should switch to cloth for our 3rd dc as it would save loads of money..bought a second hand batch of motherease, they do a great job but just not cute imo.

Since discovering all these super cute nappies im struggling to gain control

Recieved my first itti this wk..ds has christened it well with his mustard poo..which was only just contained if i hadnt off noticed i think it woudl have leaked unlike the motherease..but still cant resist more being as he only explodes about every 3days lol.

So 4andnotout..where did you get your tiger print? Ive been searching trying to find the cheapest price

It makes nappy changing so much more bearable if it's also a hobby! I'm an addict too, but I also sew my own from second hand towels and don't use a tumble drier so can I have a few 'eco warrior mum' points even though I have a stash worth hundreds?
