To laugh in the face of the asda woman when she said she was going to send me a free delivery voucher?

My shopping was due between 5-7pm tonight.

7pm came, no shopping, no phone call. So I called them. How late is it running I asked?
I'll phone the store and find out and they'll call you back, I was told.

Half an hour later - no shopping, no phone call. I called back. This person said they would phone the store and find out what was happening and the driver would call me back.

20 minutes later - no shopping no call.

I called again. This time I am told it is on its way, they can't say what time, they are having 'van problems'.

at 20 past 8 it finally shows up.

Missing the bag of frozen items. AND the receipt shows that the total cost of shopping was nearly a fiver less than they took off my bloody card!!!

So I phoned up. Explained the bloody FARCE and that my frozen items were missing AND that they had taken nearly a fiver more than the shopping came to.

Apparently that's just what they've 'reserved', not what they'll take and they took the details of the missing items and will refund them. This will take 7-10 working days.

So I have NO frozen food AND they have all my shopping money so I can't get more fucking frozen food to manage from now until the 7-10 working days when they will give me my bloody money back!

And then, then she said "I will send you a voucher for free delivery on your next order"

Well.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

I laughed my head off.

I said Do you really think I will order from you again? I'm going back to Tesco.

grrrrrrr

oh no OP...(sorry ive forgot and ive turned the page)

ive just vowed to leave tesco and try asda!!! so do i not bother?
last week tesco delivered on the 8th june yoghurts that were dated 23rd MAY!

tonight - i ordered a 3ltr box of wine and its well and truly off. looks like cats pee ( and actually doesnt taste much better)

so i rang and told tesco what they could do with their groceries....

I have tried all of the online supermarkets and prefer Tesco - service just as good as Sainsbury's but it's cheaper. Ocado is too expensive but I like the way they separate the bags into freezer, cupboard etc. Asda are rubbish.

psychomum5 · 16/06/2009 22:23

well, I have to go milk-free for life, you have to go wine-free (alcohol in general) for life.

decent swap made??

you have my share, I will happily have yours

TeaOneSugar · 16/06/2009 22:28

I actually spend less with Ocado, I think it probably depends what you typically buy, and I like the hour delivery slots.

YanknCock · 16/06/2009 22:48

I've always used Tesco but was thinking of trying some of the others since I never seem to be able to get any voucher codes to work anymore! I tried that my supermarket site and it seemed like Tesco was still cheapest. But have heard bad things about sainsbury's and now asda, and I really can't afford Ocado!

Tesco is pretty quick to return money if I reject their substitutions, and they almost always try to substitute something, even if on occasion it's way off the mark.

Hecate, if it makes you feel any better, my beer-loving brother got a three year ban from drinking following his traumatic brain injury.

smartiejake · 16/06/2009 23:09

Can't remember where I heard it but think it was someone on here talking about a strange substitution they once had on a shopping delivery.

They had ordered haggis (was burns night or something) and the substituted item they sent was shortbread biscuits.

The reason given was...

They were scottish short bread biscuits.

Ocado price match with tesco and I have never had a problem with them. Their drivers are really corteous and they turn up when they say they will.

I love ocado and even dp agrees that sometimes it is better to pay a little bit extra (and I'm talking the difference of £2-£3 per shop) to not have all the problems that our friends have with their online shopping with other stores.

Also as Cornsilk says you get a free paper and as our comes on the Saurday which has supplements I see it as a real bonus. (Shame I never get time to read it!).

I hate tesco's with a passion have never come out of one of their shops wishing I hadn't bothered.

I do my shopping with Sainsburys & they are great! It was late yesterday by 10 mins because the shopping girls were late packing all the food away & i got a £10 voucher to use & they seperate all your shopping into tinned, frozen, tioletries etc.

Really lovely helpful drivers & my ds loves the delivery coming as he always has to help bring it in & the driver passes him the light things to carry.

Saying that yesterday i noticed on my reciept that as well as buying 1 cucumber i had also bought another 19!! I rung them up to tell them & they sorted it out straight away.

I dont think any of the supermarkets are without their flaws but personally i get on ok with sainsburys.

You can blame the 7-10 day refund on the card companies I'm afraid. That bit wasn't Asda's fault it has something to do with the uk clearing laws but don't ask me what!
