To want to scream at my friend?

My friend thinks she might be pg. 10 yes 10 times she has rung me today asking what symptoms I had with the boys(none was V V lucky), what happens with MW etc. But she is refusing to do a test as she is too scared.

She has been with her DP for 4 years and they get married on Saturday. So relationship is very stable. The condom split but she didn't get the MAP as she thought that a small rip wouldn't let sperm through

She is worried about drinking on Saturday as she said she remembers my wedding where I was being given alcohol and was giving it all to DH. I found out I was pg the day before so stopped drinking.

AIBU to just scream buy a f**king test the next time she rings?

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats to your chum.

tvfriend · 11/06/2009 15:23

Congrats to your friend!
I reckon noone will notice if she drinks or not. At my wedding I kept being given glasses of champagne and then putting them down all over the place. It's all the guests who get pi**ed and the bride usually seems to be stone cold sober. I tried to get (nicely) drunk but it just didn't happen!

summerbird · 11/06/2009 15:25

she could also put orange juice in a champers glass and say it is bucks fizz.

wow i just read this thread now and it is all very exciting!!

Disenchanted3 · 11/06/2009 15:26

Kayzr · 11/06/2009 18:06

She has just text me! She couldn't wait and gave him the test this afternoon. He thought it was cufflinks or a watch to wear for the wedding!! He is over the moon!!!

That is brilliant.

I felt it was wrong to tell him at the wedding so I am glad she has told him today and he is happy.

Is she going to tell people at the wedding? My advice would be to not.

Kayzr · 11/06/2009 18:41

No they want to wait. I think they want to get the wedding out of the way.

Great news!

I found out I was pg a couple of days before bil's wedding and didn't want to take the excitement of their big day away from them with my big news. It was very easy to fool a lot of drunk people that I was drinking too. I just put my glass next to dh's at dinner and he drank from both (I took a swig but actually didn't open my mouth round the glass) and asked him for 'G&T' when he went to the bar and he just got me T.

As they are actually hosting the wedding they should get a bottle of alcohol free champers and ask the caterers to only serve her this (clearly bringing her fresh glasses and not topping up!). Or give her 'Bucks fizz' which for her is OJ with soda which will look the same.

I had to be devious as I was a total piss head before ds1 arrived so noone believed my crap excuses as to why I wasn't drinking unless I resorted to this!

alicet · 11/06/2009 22:31

Would probably be easier if she tells a couple fo trusted friends or family who can then bring her the 'gin' and alcohol free champagne / bucks fizz

If it is a hot day the other good thing is to say to people who offer to get her a drink 'do you know what? I am actually relaly really thirsty could you just get me a coke?' Did this too at BIL's wedding!

ChippingIn · 11/06/2009 23:41

LOL - what fab news - really pleased her 'DH-to-be' is over the moon as well.

If I was her I would let everyone assume it was a honeymoon baby - though as they have presumably been living together I don't know why I would think it mattered - but I would! LOL

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 12/06/2009 00:19

Oh that is lovely

We found out that I was pregnant with DS while we were on honeymoon so I always feel a bit soppy about BFPs near to weddings!!

Stigaloid · 12/06/2009 09:13

Was going to add that i didn't drink at my wedding as wanted to enjoy the day so had Schloer put aside for me. it is a lovely non-alcoholic white grape drink that looks like champers so i had something to toast with and people were none the wiser. Catering company were happy to provide it for me - she can do the same so as to 'keep up appearances'

Very exciting - hope the wedding goes well and she has a wonderful day

ssd · 12/06/2009 09:20
