DC no 3 is due in Sept, DS will be 14 months and DD will be 3 1/2. Of course I'll have my hands full but I'm sick of people saying it and or telling me I'm mad. No 3 was a bit of a surprise but one that we're delighted about - let's face it who plans that small a gap and of course it will be tough but stupid comments don't help and I've still got three months of people telling me I'll have my hands full. Any good ideas for appropriate/inappropriate responses.

coffeecups, you are pregnant you are allowed to be annoyed by these sort of comments whether they are intended to offend or not!! How are your acting skills?
When someone next says it, just act as if the thought has only just occured to you and go into a full scale panic. They'll soon wish they hadnt said anything!
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and any improvised acting sessions

I still get comments like them 5 years later, just ignore the idiots and smile and think of all the lovely memories your children are creating to keep you warm in your old age.

YABU.
People are just trying to be friendly and pass the time of day.
No matter how many, or few kids you have people will say things and you could find offence in anything. Smile and turn the conversation around if you want to carry on talking, or smile and don't, but YABVU to want wise ass comments.
I'm sure I've said similar things when I've tried to be friendly and I'd be really upset by a wise ass comment.

I sometimes feel I should never say anything to anyone because I might get someone who will find a reason for my innocent, friendly comment to be rude.
