To not want to spend £46 on a mini micro scooter for 2 year old?

I hear they're the best but I'm reluctant to fork out that much and DH is getting bit fed up of the amount I'm spending whilst on maternity leave with number 2! Anyone know of any bargains or good discounts?

I was full of good intentions that dd would wear a helmet with hers but she never did once she got going on it.

We live in West London so plenty of pavements around here and lots of school runs to scoot to and from. Dd has progressed on to a 2 wheeler very easily at 4yrs - would have been happy to keep with the micro but she is so tall she really outgrew it.

I just regret not having got one for ds when he was little.

DS got his for his 2nd birthday and in the past 18mths it has been used everyday for trips to and from school/pre-school, shops, park, zoo, etc. Recently had to wait for a 'bit' as the steering broke and he was looking for the postman every morning

Other advantages include - it's light to carry (though only need to do this when he wants to eat/drink whilst out!), it is so well designed that if he gets tired he just stands on it and I push him with almost no effort, he was more than able to ride it whilst in a cast having broken his leg

Should last him at least another 2 years and has been the best toy by far that we have bought for either of our two.

YABU

They are a fantastic investment

DD2 got one for Christmas (she was about 2.4 then) and goes everywhere on hers now... once she got the knack of it, that was it, away! Can't see her growing out of it for ages yet

YABU - best money/present we ever bought for DD. Especially when we are running late for nursery

She's nearly 4 now and she got it when she was about 2.6m

I bought DS (aged 3) one for his birthday - he loves it and will use it, and it is a help with things like walking to the park, as he is not a walker by nature!!

I was convinced after seeing him use a friend's DD's one at a park - the previous day he had been trying out ones in Toys R Us (mainly the character ones...Bob, Roary, etc) and the difference was amazing. He fell off most of those within minutes, steering was awkward, they were unstable...this one is definitely worth the money!

another vote here...my ds had his when he was just a smidge over 2, and is so good on it..its really stable, doesn't topple easily at all and is really intuitive to ride and steer....exopensive, yes, but worth it!

Another vote here too!

My DS (nearly 3) has had it since Easter and goes at such a speed he sandpapers the toes of his shoes when he brakes! He loves it!

It really is value for money after the initial outlay - oh and if you can convince the grandparents to buy it all the better! (DS got it as an early birthday present from his grandparents)

Get one. And the one with 2 wheels - the mini micro. Simply the best of the bunch.

DS1 had one for his 2nd bday and he uses it everyday to go everywhere. Park, playground, library, nursery.

Helmet is a matter of choice i guess. I probably should get one.
