To want to wash Kate on The Apprentice's face

Bathsheba · 03/06/2009 22:04

I honestly want to grab her like I grab my 2 year old, and attack her with a wet soapy flannel and wash all that shiney shinely sparkly make up off her face...

I have no idea about her "knowledge of business" but I do just want to clean her and explain the words "matt" and "natural" to her in one syllable words.

Goodness me, you have a beautiful, intelligent, emotionally stable women who has all the business skills and none of the usual nasty attributes and all us fellow women do is knock her down! So much for sisterhood...

wasabipeanut · 04/06/2009 13:58

Fairy, I am a fully paid up member of the sisterhood but I dislike Kate because I think she is "trained" and says what people want to hear. I don't think she has that much going on that makes her a hotshot business woman. I would make the same assessment of a man.

I actually rather warmed to Deborah last night.

Fairynufff · 04/06/2009 14:03

She's after a job fgs! We all say what our bosses want to hear in the world of work. And she's a young women at the beginning of her career - she's going to have that 'trained' look. She'll be as cyncial as the rest of us when she's juggling it all with a few kids in the mix but I wouldn't knock her for playing the game now. You can tell over the weeks that she's just emotionally secure. Nobody who saw her rocking that air-guitar could accuse her of being 'boring'.

She could do better than Phillip though...

Nancy66 · 04/06/2009 14:04

I think she looks great and it suits her.

Agree re Yasmina's hair though.

Iklboo · 04/06/2009 14:04

I did feel a bit sorry for Deborah last night. The guy interviewing her basically said 'everyone at work hates you, you know'. That can't have been nice

lisad123 · 04/06/2009 14:08

i quite like Kate but think she needs less makeup. So much for sisterhood when she ws saying how woman are moany and emotional

Fairynufff · 04/06/2009 14:10

Makes me laugh when siralan says what high flyers they all are... I regularly meet children with more about them...

reach4sky · 04/06/2009 14:12

I think her make up is OTT and her comments about other women were just awful. She is obviously very competent and articulate but not sure I've seen any evidence of her having "great business skills".

Fairynufff · 04/06/2009 14:12

lisad123 - woman ARE moany and emotional - that's what we're all doing on mumsnet: moaning and wondering if we really are being unreasonable!!!!

reach4sky · 04/06/2009 14:13

Also have absolutely no idea why she would want a crappy job with Suralan. SHe could do far better than that elsewhere.

ReginaCovington · 04/06/2009 14:13

her eyeliner goes right into the corner of her eye
i am transfixed by it

MargaretMountford · 04/06/2009 14:18

I think Yasmina will win, but I like Kate. I also liked Lorraine and her curious one minute it's English the next it's Irish accent. Of course I am the star of the show.

CrushWithEyeliner · 04/06/2009 14:18

She is Man's Woman - all that stuff about working with other Women at interview was just so immature and appalling. I took it as she likes to flirt with guys to get her way in Business. She must get away with Murder.

I do think she is very attractive though. Albeit far too overdone.

ReginaCovington · 04/06/2009 14:18

no one has mentioned that about her accent

Fairynufff · 04/06/2009 14:27

Was it my imagination or did Margaret have a little crush on Lorraine?

MargaretMountford · 04/06/2009 17:25

I'm not saying...

MargaretMountford · 04/06/2009 17:41

I really liked Yasmina's shoes btw

MummyPenguin · 04/06/2009 17:42

For what it's worth I don't think Kate is beautiful at all. She's reasonably attractive in an 'obvious blonde' sort of way but I think those gnashers are pretty off-putting. Out of the two of them I hope Yasmina wins. Agree she needs a good haircut though, wash, sorry, actually, yeah cut too while we're at it. Lorraine's hair was just awful during the entire series. She and Yasmina made no effort with their hair for that final big interview, just greasy and scraped back.

Loved James, he always made me laugh.

MummyPenguin · 04/06/2009 17:43

Yeah I noticed Lorraine's Irish accent creeping in last night. Hadn't noticed that before.

Love Sir Alan too. Very funny without intending to be.

Nancy66 · 04/06/2009 17:43

James just seemed thick...

PuzzleRocks · 04/06/2009 17:49

The robot thing is true but it annoyed me. Would a man be accused of the same? Why do women have to be openly emotional?

I warmed to Debra too. Notice siralan told her to give him a call? Once someone else has knocked the corners off her presumably.

slummybutyummy · 06/06/2009 23:43

I like Kate and Yasmina - although Kate is rather annoyingly pretty I actually really like her and think she will win. Yasmina seems lovely and also very good but agree with Clemette and Trillian that a good hair wash is needed. She wears good clothes, ok make up etc so obviously cares about her appearance. What's with the hair?

nickschick · 06/06/2009 23:45

Links perleeeeeease

Tinker · 06/06/2009 23:47

I think Margaret recognised a woman who was a little, shall we say, homely, and wanted to stand up for her. Who is just going to find it a little harder than the others (age against her as well)

KathyBrown · 06/06/2009 23:50

Isn't it disgusting that we have 2 women who've been off all the men to get to the final of a business competition and yet all that's being criticized is their appearance, give em a break.
