Just NO, surely that's bordering on child abuse? Embarrass yourself as an adult fine, but don't put your kids through it.

YANBU. I love BGT but that was extremely uncomfortable watching. Colleagues and I were discussing this today: children under 10 definitely has very little concept of fame, performing etc and it's usually the pushy parents that are responsible. From when they become teens and become more aware and if they want to perform, it is up to the parents to make the judgement call on whether their child can cope (I think!) but those little 'uns that are made to perform... My heart goes out to them, how is that Hollie now EVER going to live this down...

Oh yes, she's the same age as the children in the class I teach. i'm always v careful who I put in lead roles as some just couldn't cope with the pressure, despite being confident in front of their friends. But why did the camera not point away during her meltdown? She should have been hurried off stage with no questioning. Bed 'Mowgli' from last night is now thinking, 'If i'd cried, I might have got through.' The judges owed it to her not to put her through the same anguish tomorrow. Am disappointe4d in the so called adults in BGT tonight.

Oh I have stopped watching it, its just such awful exploitation of some people. It makes me cringe for them.

And poor Greg Pritchard is probably wondering why he didn't squeeze an old tear out as well!

barnsleybelle · 29/05/2009 22:40

yanbu... poor wee mite. I don't blame the judges or the programme makers, at the end of the day they are all about the money.

Shame on her mum for not scooping her up and taking her off stage.

I've only seen a couple of the semis but it looks like the final will be full of under 12s.

Bring back Team Strike from last year - they were hot.

s'alright. My kids aren't even talented enough for BGT

pointydog · 29/05/2009 22:49

dd1 was laughing about that dancing whizz, Aiden. His mum didn't know he could dance until the audition apparently.

dd1: "do they live in teh same house? Does his mum not know him at all?"
