AIBU to be miffed that my 9mo has not been invited to her 4yr old cousin's birthday party?

We live over an hour away on the train. We have been down there for the day and they sometimes come up to us. The party is in a leisure centre. AIBU to feel a bit hurt that we've not been invited?

Like a party? She's 9 months. She wouldn't have a clue what's going on.
9 month olds like sticking everything within their reach into their mouths, throwing the contents of their dinner and playing peekaboo. Not parties.

your dd may get there and fall asleep all the way thru it ....she is far too young to know whats going on.

Your dd will 'like' the party, just as most 9 months old 'like' staring at a colourful tv screen or listening to a funny song or watching you pulling silly faces at her.

She will only really start to like parties when she's about twice her current age.. (but that's not a given; lots of toddlers are petrified by parties!).

and you will only start to like children's parties when your dc is old enough to be dropped off and you can have 2 hours of peace to read the paper or go into a shop unhindered.
