Well, as part of my OT-degree we watched the movie "Inside I am dancing"....and it is totally brilliant, very powerful and really a fantastic bit of media to raise awareness for issues surrounding disabilities, and I truely think that every single Kid should have watched it in school...

Language might be debatable if suitable within an school environment, although, it is used in the right context, iykwim...

I love that movie, though I remember there was some controversy because actors who were not disabled were used.

thunderduck, indeed the actors aren't disabled...but, they were great actors, in my opinion....really playing their roles very very real...well....I thought

I agree that they were wonderful. I think I may watch it again later tonight, though I know I'll end up in tears
I haven't watched it for a long time.

I have it on dvd, but had not come round to watching it, so, today was the first time and obviously it was part of coursework, to make us use occupational therapy observational skills...so, will be watching it soon in a more relaxed way....very very moving story....

If you "enjoy" this kind of movie "Dancer in the dark" with bjork is meant to be exellent, too

Thankyou. I'll look out for DITD. I've heard it's an excellent movie but incredibly sad.

I loved this movie. Well....apart from James McAvoy's accent but then I am obsessively picky about my Irish accents!

Film made me laugh and weep loads - always a good sign

indeed...I loved "Rory's" spirit....and loved how Michael grew as a person, or, even became a real person...he seemed to have no identity before Rory, due to being in institutions all his life, etc.
And I loved Siobhan (sp?) pure acceptance....

definitely a movie for laughing and crying....
