I'm at my parents house with DD. DD has been playing out in the garden with my grandparents (who also live here) all afternoon, so when my dad said he was going to pick up my mum, I presumed he'd left her with them. I just went through to thier part of the house and she isn't there, so I can only presume he took her with him. SO I tried to phone him, but his phone is switched off. My mum just rang and he hasn't yet turned up to pick her up from work, she thinks he may have gone to the wrong place. She can't get hold of him either. He is in my mums car, which she isn't driving as it is waiting for a part and is very tempremental (he was meant to be picking her up in his car, but seems to prefer hers) ARGH! communication breakdown! This is what you get for having a dad that hardly talks!

phew My mum has found my dad and he does indeed have dd with him. It is very easy to lose track of DD in this house, as there are basically two households in one house (my grandparents in one and my parents and teenage sister in another) and my DD wanders freely through the entire house. I love that she feels so confortable with everyone (plus there are often friends and other relatives visiting, and me and my other sister are often staying over) but it can be a bit of a PITA when people don't communicate with me about what they are doing with her. She's 2.3, so is at prime wandering off age.

Phew indeed!

I really think you have to make it clear who is looking after your child and that no one takes her out of the house without telling you, her mother.

Yeah, I think so too. I don't mind her playing in the house, as there is always someone watching her, as long as she is supervised if she goes near the stairs/into a kitchen/into the garden etc, but I think I need to be updated about major things like her going for a nap/being fed/being took out of the house really.
