Is it just me who thinks that if you want people to self-evaluate in terms of the knowledge required for their job you should allow them to remain anonymous?

Hah BoF... my fb name isn;t even a name IYSWIM... I wasn't even subtle in my anonymousness anonymity

I think I used my real name for mn... simply because I was subscribing... however, I may have used my maiden name (which is of course still me, though rare rather than unique like my married name)

Thing is idrank that when you have a unique name once they have that, they can get all your details...

thedolly you raise an interesting question. I have questioned people before about the use of their chatname across multiple sites (eg mn, ebay, freecycle and CiF etc) and also people using their real name as their casual email address (eg [email protected]). It's as if they want all and sundry to know their business. I really don't think I'd want my ebay customers knowing I had a smelly fanjo for example, especially if I were selling trousers!
Conversely I wouldn't want mners to know I'm buying nipple clamps on ebay...
