My dd is 8 weeks and think she has either really bad wind or colic. It has got easier over last few weeks but today and yesterday she had bad crying and griping pain in tummy. Feel helpless. We have been giving infacol before feeds for a week and gripe water in between which both help but still not a full cure. Anyone know if it's ok to give both of these?

Any one else been through this and does it end? told it does after about 3 months!

Also she chucked up her feed in the middle of the night, this was just after gripe water. Worrying bit is that she holds her breath before being sick, is this normal? Doc says as long as she isn't turning blue its ok!

I bought a monitor with a movement pad - just so if she did stop breathing it would go off. I know some people think they increase anxiety, but I found it to be a good bit of baby kit, as it meant I could actually relax and sleep. Sorry you are having such a tough time.

I will echo the infant gaviscon suggestion. DD was absolutely awful.... it turned out that she didn't like milk. How bizarre, but by 6 months she was entirely off bottles and relied entirely on my inginuity with a chunk of cheese!
Anyway, she was really bad, lots and lots of screaming. IG was suggested by midwife, and it was like quiet in a box!
Also, we would put the buggy in the front room and run it over a rolled jumper. She usually quietened down after a while, and I think the bumping helped with dispersing the wind.

Chin up, you are doing a fab job by the sounds of it. My dd is now 16 months and those days are just a distant nightmare memory

Pink76 take a look at the link on my first post they are breathing monitors that clip onto babies nappy, highly sensitive and an alarm with go off even if she holds her breath.

sorry, forgot to add that my dd also held her breath, I can't remember if it was before or after feeds though. I mentioned it to the midwife (was in the first week) and she also said that as long as she doesn't go blue it's fine. It was very worrying, but she always took the next breath on her own fairly shortly after.
