If you opened this and thought BJ referred to a certain sexual act then it may support DWs thoughts on the subject!

Now to explain - bought a 'new' car and everything is fine except DW noticed the registration is BJ xx xxx!! Why didn't we pick one of the other cars at the garage instead??

Neither of us is a fan of personalised plates but would you make the change over in this case? BTW - DW may need to use it on occasions to go to her secondry school.....

I haven't posted for a while as busy with new job but this dilemma has just come up (so to speak).

My gran's registration number is FUK.

She hates it!

Yurtgirl · 18/05/2009 22:45

One of my neighbours has a car with RAxxxPE, drives me crazy as I always notice!

MANATEEequineOHARA · 18/05/2009 22:47

Hmmmm....I would not be very happy to drive a car with BJ in the number plate. But I do scrutinise number plates, I had a mad obsession with writing them down as a child, and the urge to stare at the patterns of letters and numbers has never really gone away! (wierdo emotion}

FigmentOfYourImagination · 18/05/2009 22:50

There is a white Ford Focus with go faster stripes near me driven by a young, scrawny, spotty yoof. His reg ???

PU51 LOV

Twerp. Can you see his DW letting that go on the Zafira in 15yrs time ? LOL

FWIW, I don't think anyone will notice the BJ reference in the OP's plate.

tattifer · 18/05/2009 22:53

I notice vehicle registrations. Call me juvenile but I always think WNK is unfortunate.

BJ? If DW has a problem then you could always buy any other plate, doesn't have to be something daft or meaningful.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 18/05/2009 22:55

I don't even know the reg of my car . How bloody girly is that ?! In my defence I have only had it 4 weeks.

DH has a private plate

FigmentOfYourImagination · 18/05/2009 22:55

(but not a wanky one)

tattifer · 18/05/2009 23:09

NT WNK1 1

EyeballsisonaDietAgain · 18/05/2009 23:27

DH says when he met me he should have run for the hills when he noticed that my numberplate ended in GBH..

psychomum5 · 18/05/2009 23:38

BJ wouldn;t bother me, altho maybe it would if I worked in a secondary school with the minds that some teens have.

that said, there is a car I see daily on the school-run with 666 in the reg. now that is a reg I would never ever buy!!!

Lancelottie · 19/05/2009 10:16

I've been on MN too long, as I saw one the other day with the reg

Y4NBU

and immediately thought 'Mumsnetter!'

StripeyOss · 19/05/2009 10:25

BJ wouldnt make me bat an eyelid on a car reg.

BradfordMum · 19/05/2009 10:33

Can I just deviate for a moment please?

Talking about BJ's!

One day, I was in the car with my 3 DC's
Dd15 and Dd13 were chatting and somehow the word Blow job was mentioned. Now we are quite open about sex in our family so I didn't stop them.
I continued driving while they chatted.
Suddenly, ds12 chirped up,

"err blow jobs are disgusting, you'd never catch me weeing in a girls mouth!!"

Bless him!

SexyDomesticatedDad · 19/05/2009 11:05

at BMs DS. Just so you know DW does do the real thing now and again .

Plate is still a bit of a concern - don't actually pick up the car until Thursday - and also 'cos its a Company car you have to provide the registration each time you fill it up!!

We can have both our full sets of initials on the plate so would look like;

DWxx SDD

Of course these are not our real initials, never a fan of personalised plates - but then the car is a bit of a treat for us and a case of lets go for it now!

Decisions, decisions........

There used to be a icecream van go round where we used to live with Reg F XXX UCK. When I commented on how number plate wasn't really appropriate, Driver said he'd never even noticed.

CazandKy · 19/05/2009 11:21

Lol, I'd not let it bother me! If it was the other way round and you'd got a personalised number plate saying BJ then I'm sure people would have things to say about you but as it's just a standard plate just laugh it off!

SexyDomesticatedDad · 19/05/2009 11:25

Search Results for BL08 JOB
Sorry, all these possible combinations have already been sold and are not available to purchase from DVLA. Here are some alternatives.

There are quite a few plates for sales at the DVLA starting BJxx xxx for as little as £245 .

Think we are going to pay up for a 'standard' type reg that has our initials in.

A BJ reg wouldn't bother me. But I would not drive a car with a registration number I saw recently - VU** LVA.

mayorofwhoville · 20/05/2009 09:55

Just a little aside from the number plate discussions.....

An ex of mine (when about 6) was given the option of having his sinuses cleared out (used to suffer really badly with sinusitis). He mulled this over and told his parents (in a really loud voice, in a restaurant) that he "wouldn't have that blow job after all".

They were mortified!
