To be cross with DH

DH hates going to the cinema and has refused point blank on more than one previous occasion to go as a family.
We have got into the habit of me taking them on my own in the scool holidays.
We have already been discussing what we are going to see at half-term.

He agreed to take the dcs out this afternoon so I could mn study.
I was taken aback when he suggested the cinema as it was pouring down in the morning. It was lovley and sunny by the afternoon but off they went to the cinema. I'm feeling peeved as I love the cinema and was going to take them to see that film next week at half term!
I am being a bit petty aren't I? I suppose I should be grateful.

I'm being a total prat aren't I?
Essay is so boring but I'm going to get back to it and give DH a big thank you when he gets back.

Being cross with your DH is your displacement activity.

That is the kind of thing that winds me up too though so i know where you are coming from...

An example.

I asked DH if he wanted to come with me and DD swimming the following morning as I could not manage DD on my own as been suffering from morning sickness, but had felt better and wanted to take her out. He said No, I really don't want to go, you should go on your own. Earlier that morning, you sure you won't come with us. No I am not coming. So I decide I cant do it on my own. I have an afternoon nap and he says 'DD and I are going swimming seeing as you are having a sleep. .

I was furious, but like you, it was probably petty.

I have sat and weighed it up though, and on balance, no YANBU - now get on with your essay.

unfitmother (you really need to change your name!!) & pavlov - I don't think either of you are BU at all actually, I think both DH's were being (at best) thoughtless, deserving 'a consequence' to their behaviour - I think both of them cooking a really nice meal and giving you both a foot massage would be a start....
