She is currently sat next to me on the sofa (although she has pulled the cushion off, so is sat on the bare base) in a nappy, vest, wellies, bobble hat and stickers all over her legs. If I try to put her in normal clothes she shouts, so for an easy life I just let her get on with it! At least she's quiet!

She's 2.3

I has STUNNING pictures of madam wearing one stripy fimble welly one red welly a summer frock mad wild curly hair a chiffon scarf some beads standing on a red bucket holding a microphone

she's still a bit bonkers at 7 !

Let her get on with it! I have a dd2 aged 4 who is the same, I have given up arguing with her about her choice of outfits and she chooses her own unique combinations for nursery now. As a result everyone knows her and admires her independance!

Only fight the battles that are worth fighting! (But take photos so you can show her when she is older!)

YANBU - she sounds nuts but very content!

As long as you've taken a photo to remind her of her style choices then no need to worry

Meant to add

LOL, DP just left for work so I said "see you darling" to him. DD then proceeded to spend ten minutes a few centimetres from my face shouting "silly darling" and giggling. I am now going to` attempt to put her in clothes that will at least keep her warm while we go to the shop. any tips for persuasion? i was thinking of pretending to put the clothes on myself first...

Lissy, she sounds utterly fabulous. Maybe she'll grow up to be Helena Bonham-Carter. Has she inherited her sense of style from her mum???

Anyone else grow up in the 70s? - neck-stretching polonecks spring to mind!

LissyGlitter · 15/05/2009 15:25

lol, yes, my sense of style is perhaps a little off the beaten track!

I just sent her to my mums in yellow and black striped wellies, a black skirt with yellow spots (started life as a stage costume for my sister), a bright yellow t-shirt and a leopardprint trilby hat. She looked ace!

My dd2 used to do this sort of thing ... what am I saying, she still does (though not the nappy!)

She's 5, has her very own idiosyncratic sense of style and the only time she looks smart is in her school uniform!
