...to think that if a company quotes you a certain price for a holiday, they should not be able to charge you double and say 'oh, it was a glitch'?

Have just been trying to book tickets online to go to France for the weekend. The adult price I was quoted was around £65 on Eurostar, which is a great as we normally pay around £80, but I know they sometimes have offers.

So when I clicked through to the next step, it said I would have to pay £65 for one adult and another £65 for the infant. But on Eurostar, infants go free.

So I tried booking again, this time minus the infant. This time the adult price came up as £130.

I called the travel co's office (in fact spoke to about half a dozen people in various locations and companies - great use of my time that was) and the upshot of it is that the travel company's website should have said £130 in the first place, but there's something wrong with their website, which is why it starts out by telling you that it will cost £65.

Should I pursue this any further? I can't afford to pay £260 for a weekend's trip to France.

are you booking on the proper eurostar website?

You can't pursue it unless you purchased (and even then it would be goodwill and you'd have to fight).

Can you go at a cheaper time?

We were hoping to go for a friend's daughter's birthday, so unfortunately it has to be those dates.

I did wonder about purchasing and then fighting, but at the risk of losing £130? No chance.
