DD2 is getting really angry with DD1 because she is keepingher awake.
I'm getting narked with the pair of them because I want a seacret cigarette to have a sit down and relax and the little brats monsters won't go to bloody sleep.

ladyevenstar, judging by recent threads I think you and I have a very similar view on life

I use drugs too, it's called red wine

Stayingsunnygirl · 06/05/2009 10:14

When my boys were younger, I did consider pumping anaesthetic gas under the bedroom door.

Sleep deprivation is a form of torture, and it makes your mind do very strange things.

Or, perhaps, she could simply be venting here!! She's just being human - and I doubt that what she says here bears any resemblance at all to how she's actually acting towards her children!!

Bobblebuddy · 06/05/2009 14:59

True SSG - quite possible, but even when really stressed, you still need to remember that they can't help feeling ill. Secret cigarette or comfort for a sick child? I don't smoke but even if you swapped it for a nice glass of red, the child would still come first for me. But venting is fair enough, if that's what it is...

Stayingsunnygirl · 06/05/2009 15:02

I do see your point, Bobblebuddy, but equally I can understand reaching that point of exhaustion where rationality flies out of the window and it could be easy at that point to imagine that they are Doing It On Purpose.

I hope that venting here enabled the OP to regain her sense of perspective and return, somewhat refreshed, to the fray.

PuppyMonkey · 06/05/2009 15:02

Call me old fashioned, but I took the op to be a bit tongue in cheek.

Stayingsunnygirl · 06/05/2009 15:07

PuppyMonkey - you are oldfashioned!!

(Sorry - couldn't resist).

Fwiw, I suspect the op was partly venting and partly tongue-in-cheek.

PuppyMonkey · 06/05/2009 15:12

it's true as well sunnygirl..

ProstetnicVogonJeltz · 06/05/2009 15:41

I didn't beat my poor sick child with a rubber mallett. that would have been a bit wrong. I didn't drug them, I mearly wished that sometimes I could just for a momets peace.
I was indeed venting and a tad tounge-in-cheek.
must dash. have to empty my ash tray and hide the vodka bottles before my daily visit from SS.

Stayingsunnygirl · 06/05/2009 15:43

Just pass the vodka over here, dearie - I'll look after it for you! [innocent emoticon]

Stayingsunnygirl · 06/05/2009 15:46

Oh - and for what it's worth, I have never ripped one of my childrens' arms off then beaten them to death with the soggy end - despite promising it on more than one occasion - far too messy, imo.

Stayingsunnygirl · 06/05/2009 15:47

And despite huge provocation too!
