to think if your dc is going through a scratching phase you should keep her nails short?

Friend's 2 yr old dd2 here this weekend. By the end of Saturday my ds and her dd1 had deep scratch marks under their eyes from her dd2. The dd1 also had scratched arms and cheek from last week too. Seems to me leaving them long is almost as bad as if I'd given ds a mallet when he was going through his whacking phase!

YANBU but maybe the mother just hasn't thought about it, or maybe it's a nightmare to cut the childs nails. Can you mention it to her or do you think she'd take offence?

YANBU. Both of mine (10 & 8) still have facial scars from being scratched as toddlers.

DS2 scratches DS1 but cutting his nails is a nightmare in fact it is impossible!

they are quite matter of fact about the scratches on dd1. "oh yes, dd2 scratched her again". I think it hasn't occurred to them. She's like a little lioness. is so fast with the claws too.
