To have turned around and walked out of this cafe?

After dropping someone off at the airport, my friend and I decided to stop off in Manchester to pass some time til the bus home came. It was 7am in the morning. We decided to go for breakfast. We went into the first cafe we came to and was making subtle faces as we queued to place our order as it was a bit shabby, holes in the seats and it looks dirty even. I was about to suggest we find another place, when I looked over in the corner and saw a man and a woman totally out of it on heroin. They were both totally hunched over, looked totally out of this world, like I cannot describe. I cannot believe the cafe owner would have them sit there like that in his cafe. It was such a scary sight, I just grabbed my friend and pulled her out of the cafe.

I would have left when I saw the holes in the seats to be honest! I bet your feet stuck to the floor too!

Dear God YABU.
Why on earth would someone high on heroin be bothered about messing with you? Heroin addicts are actually normal human beings too you know. If I was sitting in that cafe i'd be more disgusted at your reaction than by the 2 drug addicts.

I'm just bemused as to why this needs an AIBU thread...

Are we supposed to say no, you judgemental so n' so, you should have stayed, sat on the holey seats, drank the watery tea and eaten a bun of dubious provenance?

I don't get it....

Pemslass, I wasn't frightened they were going to do anything. The state they were in, they couldn't even get off the chairs if they tried, i'll bet. They were totally and utterly out of this world. Slumped over, eyes closed. It was really shocking the state they were in. Why couldn't they have done this at home instead of subject the public to it?

DD1 and DD2 walk past the methadone queue outside our local pharmacy, on the way to nursery.

Never had any trouble.

Wouldn't eat in a skanky cafe though.

Well, possibly because they were addicts & as such, shot up immediately after buying.

Is it really that big a deal though? They wouldn't've hurt you. You thought the caff was a bit insalubrious, you left, problem solved.
