my son is driving me nuts! hes a very bright handsome little devil. He teases his sisters, goes out to play and doesnt come back in for his tea, then wonders why im annoyed at him.... cause hes already had tea at his best friends!aaargh! i ground him and the sneaky little pest waits until im harrased or on the phone , then asks to go out, knowing that im only half listening cause im rescuing toddler from drinking loo water, sticking finger in socket mischief. what am i doing wrong? my other kids are reasonably well behavied, i cant work out what happened....he used to be such a lovely wee boy

I know this is not what you want to hear but... some kids are just like that!

You should get a big rabbit type run thing in garden and tie him to a little pole in the middle he can run off all his energy

You have'nt done anything wrong like I say some kids are some kids ain't little PITA's LOL.

He's growing up that's all I'm convinced the whole teen rebellion thing starts at 8...

Erm, I don't know- is he any good at digging, mucking out chickens, or other types of chore?

Seriouslly though, he sounds spirited. Is he actively involved in any clubs or hobbies? It might be a good idea otherwise to get him into something/ several energetic clubs (sports, scouts, etc...) to channel his energies. Also he needs to understand fully that you are in charge, so you may need to re-assert your authority in some way (deprive him of favourite toy for a while?)

mamadiva pmsl at tie him to a pole! Riven, he does say "its not fair", all the time... its just not fair . Duchesse , dont know about mucking out, but he's defo great at mucking "in", muck that is! he is the only child i know that has more mud inside his trainers than on the outside ! I do want to re-assert authority , but i think ive lost that ability TBH. he just knows how to wrap me around his wee finger..... . please tell me he'll grow out of this!

sounds like a new challenge. I have one 4 year old monster who says its not fair, and pushes his luck so much it has its own labled wheel barrel. Want to swop?

(suspect we'd both miss our little devils simply because they are ours and as much as a break would be nice they're not that bad all the time)

my ds aged 3 has the cold so when i went in last night to put some vicks on his chest (he was sleeping) he grumbled in a sleepy daze, " why do you do these things to me?" all i heard was "its sooo unfair!!"

He sounds perfectly normal to me. Sorry if that's not much comfort
