To find a nail varnish remover in a childs play shop...

On Saturday I visited an activity venue for kids all set out for different topics. It was self lead and the kids all moved around chosing different tables and could be seen most of the time. some helpers helped with clay, threading etc

I was having a lovely time my dd(7) and ds (3.6) along with my brother and his 4 year old , my ds came over to me with a empty nail varnish remover that was readily availiable in the play shop. I opened it and the fumes where awful and small drips were still in the bottom. (the bottle said highly toxic).
The manager apologised and said it was an oversight and to mail the owner. I went back in the shop and found a Flash floor cleaner, again unwashed and still smelly.

Which I did and the reply I got was "One of the public must of placed it there". He apologised no end and said they would remove all plastic bottles and only use boxes.

I feel really upset what could have happened to ds and a shoddy excuse given to me. Im not sure what I want to happen (still in shock) but just wanted some feedback to what others would do.

I think I understand what you're saying. There is a play shop for the children, with pretend things for them to buy and sell, and someone has put empty flash/remover bottles in the play shop without thoroughly washing them first.

Is this what you mean?

Yes, Sorry might not of explained it well.

It was more the nail varnish remover I was concerned about though.

The nail varnish remover was a mistake really. It should have been washed out.

Though when we were small we played with lots of household things out of the cupboards and survived.

Actually, I think the manager has passed the buck in this case. If he's the manager, he's responsible for the safety of the children during his shift so to blame the owner or other people isn't on really.

It probably was a well-meaning but incredibly stupid member of the public. Stupid people must breed like rabbits with other stupid people, coz there's so many of them.

I once saw a stupid person place a boiling hot cup of coffee on a plastic pretend kitchen table in a play area once and then left it there whilst she went to the loo.
