She changed him on the floor, without anything under him and it was rather, ahem, a messy one.

I didn't notice it until I had trodden it around the living room.

YABU

Don't let toddlers in your home if you don't want to risk their poo or wee being anywhere! Of course she didn't notice it if you didn't.

Also, though, she was daft to change on a carpet without a mat - I change on wipeable surfaces without a mat, but wouldn't do it on a carpet or fabric sofa.....but then I usually change on my knee to avoid any problems like that!

If it was a geniune accident YABU but I had a friend who used to bring her 20 month old round bare bummed and use my house for potty training. He weed 3 times and 'friend' brought 3 changes of clothes so she obviously knew he would piss everywhere but she would rather him pee or all my house than put a pull up on him or even bring a potty! She refused as 'she wanted him to use the toilet!'. Needless to say I don't see her anymore!

YA so NBU. Can be stomach-churning. And/or expensive to fix if you can't get it out.

I don't understand why she did it - are her own carpets poo-encrusted? I'm not sure it is up to other people to rush in with hot towels etc etc - can't see it's their job.

I think poo'ey nappies should be changed in the bathroom when in other people's homes, and when guests are visiting in mine, so YANBU.

I have a friend who thinks nothing of changing her 2.5 year old's nappy in the middle of the room when it's full of people drinking coffee and chatting, even after we all say 'surely you aren't going to do that here?' She still carries on though. If I had to then clear up shit off the floor I'd probably lose it.

i always ask where to change nappies

and i always use a mat underneath if out

how much poo are we talking about here? though obv any is unacceptable

A friend of mine changed her 3 week old baby on my sittingroom floor on very expensive rug. She wad asked and as she had a mat I said it was fine. Anyway, the mat was tiny, and baby widdled all over it. So she picked up baby, waved her around over my rug, and lots of yellow baby poo went everywhere.

I was but what can you do. Cleared it up and I know that she is still very about it.

shit and piss are natural bodily functions-i don't want anyones on my floor, not even my own kids-bathrooms are for all things shit related.I change my daughter out of the way in our own home if we have visitors because i think it's VILE for the visitors to have to sit whilst i wipe semi digested sweetcorn out of her crevices...and it STINKS.
YANBU op.
