to leave dd sleeping?

She's 2.3 and she went for her nap at about half three, after a day of chilling out in my bed watching me throw up with MS. She's still asleep, or at least being very quiet in her room. Am I being a bad mother to be planning on leaving her there till she starts to shout for me, then just letting her stay up later tonight? I'm still feeling very weak and sickly, and don't want to have to cope with the tantrum I usually get when I wake her up before she is ready. I am going to mention how much she sleeps to the next hv/gp/nurse that we see, just to check it's ok, but she's eating and drinking normally (except obv she hasn't had her tea yet)and seems her normal self apart from liking her bed!

Leave her be. As long as she's eating and drinking OK, and not fevered, she'll be fine, and it sounds like you need the rest.

Have you actually checked on her - to make sure she is ok

LissyGlitter · 30/04/2009 19:29

timmette my dp checked on her about an hour ago and she stirred, looked at him, and snuggled into her pillow!

Leave her there, just keep checking on her. Shes obviously happy there. Your right to get it checked out, could be a difficiency in something such as iron, but may not be anything, and she just likes her bed! I was over hearing a convo between a mum and grandma yesterday, mum had 3 ish yr old with her, saying that whenever she gets home, little girl loves to put on her jammies and go to bed!

sas45 · 30/04/2009 19:29

That does seem like a long sleep. Does she sleep through the night? Hope you are feeling bit better.

timmette · 30/04/2009 19:39

Leave her then my ds at that age slept from 4 pm till 7 am - get some rest.

littleducks · 30/04/2009 19:40

dd did this occassionally at this age, would go down for a late nap then sleep till morning, then back to normal

if its regular you should check it out

however i just discovered that dds friend has a three hour afternoon nap

She's still asleep... I'm gonna go upstairs and check on her, and if she's still sleeping, pop her in her pjs, if she's up, bring her down for something to eat. She does have toys in her room, so often she does just play quietly.

so was she up at the crack of dawn?

LissyGlitter · 01/05/2009 11:19

When I went up to check on her she woke up (although she was still lying in bed, so couldn't have been awake for too long), so I brought her downstairs and gave her some tea and let her play for a while, and put her back at about half ten, and she slept through till 9.30am!
