Was at local park last week and the council-run sports van turned up. DCs all excited , went over and started to play with some of equipment scattered over floor. After some time one of van occupants came out, wandered about & then went to cafe for drinks....must be thirsty work throwing hoops & beanbags out.Other occupant never set foot outside van. Isn't the idea that they get kids engaged in some sort of activity/game with the children?

Boo - what country are you in?

I haven't seen one of those since I have been back in the UK, but I used to help a friend do hers when I lived overseas! It brought back some great memories, I'd forgotten all about it!!

err.... YANBU - we used to practically kill ourselves doing it AND cook sausages on a BBQ

Hmm, depends what their job was? Were they employed to run & supervise community sports, or to transport the equipment?

BooRadders · 25/04/2009 21:35

Hmmm didn't get copy of job description.possibly said "chuck out equipment & text pals/read heat mag until you have to pack away Repeat at next destination"

Fair enough, but it's hard to know whether they were doing their job without knowing what that was.

Glad your DCs enjoyed it though.

YANBU. Our local toy library was closed for 3 months because the woman who ran it had to go to a 'meeting'. Taxpayers money etc. grrr

Thunderduck · 25/04/2009 23:08

Her meeting lasted three months?

mitfordsisters · 26/04/2009 19:08

I know! I think they had tea breaks
