To think that John Barrowman will do anything for money?

He used to be a big thing for me. First came across him in Doctor Who, loved his outrageous late-night interviews and cheeky camp, even managed to get to see him singing his cabaret show in London.

And this last year, he's never off the screen, and it's virtually all crap telly! This show of his is the pits - horrible meld of Jim'll Fix It and Stars in Their Eyes. I thought we got rid of this sort of shite tv years ago. And now there's John, in his shiny suit, making me cringe and think longingly of the days when he was 'just' a really talented musicals star and seemed to have a modicum of taste and career judgement.

He's just so ... naff.

Oh. I just tested my link and saw lots of people posted. Apologies ladies

Saltire · 25/04/2009 20:30

expat - you know you want to

FfreckleFface · 25/04/2009 20:34

I love him. My only complaint about this new show is that he isn't wearing the Captain Jack get up. I love a man in uniform me...

expatinscotland · 25/04/2009 20:42

Salty, DD1 is now addicted to Dr Who. She says he's a 'fine, tall fella' (she's a beanpole herself) and when she hears him in his real accent says, 'Oh, I like the sound of him.'

The chap's from Paisley, ffs.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am.

Dumbledoresgirl · 25/04/2009 20:46

Well I lurve JB as you may already know, but I watched his show last week and cringed. I will never watch it again.

Bring back Captain Jack and let's take this retro 70s crap off the screen.

JUST what I was thinking Lizzylou. I'll get in line behind you then, shall I?
Or if he's busy, his boyfriend will be an acceptable substitute.

I have fond memories of watching him as a child when he presented a movie quiz show.

When does he appear in that Whitney video? I'm too lazy to watch the whole thing.

scottishmummy · 25/04/2009 23:00

MrsGokWan · 25/04/2009 23:44

Pleasure

He is very athletic.

Thunderduck · 25/04/2009 23:59

He certainly is. I can see the potential other uses of all that energy and flexibility.
