to think it's a tragedy that one of the world's greatest children's authors is so little known in the UK?

I'm talking about Astrid Lindgren, author of Pippi Longstocking. While the latter is obv known here she has written tons of other books and they are all amazing.

Lotta, Happy Times in Noisy Village, Karlson on the Roof for younger children.

Ronia the Robber's daughter, The Brothers Lionheart, Mio my Son for older children.

I urge you all to explore her work

I just wanted to bump this thread up to say THANK YOU!!!
I bought Happy Times in Noisy viallge and Karlson in the roof on the back of this thread in the vain attempt to find suitable and motivating reading material for ds1 and a 'nice' story for bedtimes to read to ds1AND ds2 together.

They wanted me to keep on reading 'noisy village' and I have just gone throught o check on them and ds1 was reading karlson on the roof under the covers with his torch and did not want to out it down
